Good morning and welcome to Foto Friday for 9/15.
Last week I alluded to a story about photographing these dilapidated headstones. I live in North Carolina which was a pivotal state in the Civil War and we have many dead from that era buried here. I came up with the idea for this series of neglected graves and the second time I went out to shoot some in a local cemetery, when I arrived at the section which contained the remains of the Confederate dead I found that they were not as neglected as totally I had thought. It was rather heartwarming in a strange and sad way.
Please note: This is not any kind of endorsement for any cause except that I feel it proper and kind to remember those who have gone before.
And now for something completely different, when I was traveling through the Pacific Northwest I went to Pyke's Market in Seattle. One of the flower vendors at work presented a beautiful photograph I could not pass up.
This lady very kindly ignored me totally so I could get a perfectly un-posed candid shot of her as she worked.
Thank you M'am.
Now the Photoshop creation today started as a real challenge. I have no idea what this was in actuality, looks like it could be some kind of satellite being readied. And that bar across the center was somethig that just had to be removed.
But I took second place in this contest by turning it into jewelry for a fashion ad.
That's all for this week my friends. Have a grand and glorious weekend and may your next week be more than enjoyable.
Ciao y'all.

Before I started shooting again I started competing in these Photoshop contests and I used photos off the web, from free photo banks. After a while this got to be too time consuming and there were often times I could not find the perfectly right picture to use, so I started uisng my pocket digital. Well, one thing lead to another and now I am shooting seriously again. (With a better camera of course)
I just wanted to make sure I was not giving you good people a false impression. For the most part, the photoshop pictures are displayed for the Photoshopping in them. The exceptons would be this one:
this one:
and this one:
which are all original work including all photographs incocrporated into the final image.
thanks for the comment too hehe
