Questions
I like a fool began to dream,
to be with her my prize supreme.
To try out every pleasure known,
then I wake and find myself alone
Prisoner of a mirage filled desert,
alone to suffer and study hurt.
Hidden vultures mocking waiting,
memories revisited now berating.
One escape the ultimate sleep,
what right this world my presence keep?
Its recurring theme of pain and cost,
can I jump the queue and be the lost?
Standing aloft this tower called life,
built up with years of work and strife.
Gazing at the edge a plan is hatched,
a tempting flight, no strings attached.
But questions pause my final advance.
What if hope needs one last chance?
What if ultimate release is too a lie?
Unanswered, alone I sit and cry.
