Huh.
Just found out why my Dad has been so snarly the last few days. He just got hit with a $1700 bill from the Ministry of Human Devlopment. Turns out they expect him to reimburse them for his expenses while he was in the Ukraine monitoring the election back in December. Curious monkey that I am I read the breakdown of the audit and it seems the only thing the Canadian goverment is paying for is the flight over to Europe. I don't think it's a scam or anything but maybe Prime Minister Martin and Minister Petrigew shouldn't have gone on and on about how Canada was sending monitors. They must have realised that my Dad and the others would need to eat and have a place to stay. It's also kind of hard to take when the money my Dad spent is really insignificant when compared to the amounts involved in the current Sponsorship scandal.
Managed to talk Chuck into being willing to live more than 20 minutes from town and it definitely helped in terms of places. So far we've seen 7 and filled out two applications. What isn't so great is that I had forgotten how much time this takes. No Aikido again tonight and I haven't had a chance to practice piano in several days. Hopefully by this weekend we'll have a place and I can get back to my usual routine.
Hope everyone is doing great

I would never expect to get paid, or have first class covered... but if they're going to send you to do something, they need to at least cover costs :/
