Went to see Morrissey last Monday. Totally worth it! I once told my friends that I would stab someone for Morrissey tickets if he ever came to MN but luckily enough I was able to just buy them. Courteneers started it off and were pretty good for a opening band, at least enough that I wanted to look more into their music.
Then the curtain that had been blocking off half the stage went up to reveal an oldtimey picture of a sailor flexing his guns with a cigar in his mouth to a cacophony of sound. By the time Morrissey walked out I was so worked up the only thing that kept me from ripping my shirt in twain and leaping off the balcony was that I REALLY liked the shirt I was wearing. Needless to say the whole band was amazing and it was a gouging by ticketmaster well spent.
Morrissey is one of the wonderful bands that doesn't have to drowned out the lead singer with guitars and drums and puts out incredible energy even without jumping and thrashing on stage. i.e. Life is a Pigsty was one of the best songs of the night:
