So, these are the games I recently finished or have been playing as of lately.
- Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. This is a game that plays like the L4D games, where you play with 3 other people (or bots) and have to work together to survive until the end of the level, except this game takes place inside the Warhammer scenario, during the End Times event. There are 5 playable characters and they're all played differently since their weapons vary between each other (and there is the Bright Wizard, who uses magic). You obtain loot at the end of each level with varying levels of rarity that can be weapons, trinkets or hats). My favorite character is the Witch Hunter, the only character in the game who gets to wield dual pistols, along with a rapier + off-hand pistol.
I've been taking a break from this game because I have been playing it too much. My gear is already all gold (2nd best rarity) for all characters and now I'm just trying to get red (highest rarity) weapons for them. Sadly, I've been having to play with bots, not many friends play it.
- Marvel: Infinity War. This is an entirely fan-made beat'em'up game that has over 70 playable Marvel characters, including some villains, and it's actually quite well done. The story in the Story Mode takes place during the Infinity War events, though the game includes some more modern characters like Agent Coulson and Quake. There are other playable modes, including remakes of some oldschool Marvel games. It's actually really fun to play. Thing's my favorite, he wrecks everything. Actually want to try playing this with friends.
- Final Fantasy: Record Keeper. This is a mobile game that includes characters from mostly all FF games. I've been playing it for a long time now, it's one of the few games I can really spend a long time playing as there is always new content coming out for it. I'm mostly at end game level right now, most of my characters are already max level and I can tackle almost all difficulties in the game, the only challenges I can't beat right now are the Torment dungeons, but they were also recently released and not everyone can beat them. Right now I'm just trying to get new Soul Breaks for my characters and acquire motes to power up their Record Spheres.
- Delver. Now there's a game that got me REALLY mad. It's not really a complicated game - it's a roguelike dungeon crawler where you go through dungeons, kill enemies, avoid traps, level up and find items. It's pretty short and can be beat in 2 to 3 hours if you know what you're doing and the game doesn't screw you over.
The thing is... It's a roguelike game, which means, if you die, it's all over and back to the beginning. The only thing you keep is your gold, which doesn't help much - you can buy some starting gear or a potion that gives you an instant stat point, but that's about it.
What made this game so frustrating for me is that it's not just about getting to the end of the dungeon. Once there, you'll kill a boss and grab an orb... And then you have to run all the way back to the beginning while the game is constantly spawning end-level monsters on your way. I died a lot of times and actually uninstalled the game twice before I was able to beat it.
And you know what happened when I finally opened the door to get out of the dungeon and beat the game?
THE GAME FUCKING CRASHED.
Luckily, the game still considered my playthrough as finished, once I opened the game again, my save game said "Finished". But still... Ugh.
- Toren. This game was made by a friend of mine and released back in 2015, but only recently I got to finish it at last. It's an amazing game and I'm not saying it just because it was made by a friend of mine. It's a beautiful game, albeit short. Despite being a short game, it's still entirely stunning.
- Rad Rodgers: World One. I've been following this game for a long time ever since I backed their campaign in Kickstarter and it was recently released at last. It's an awesome game that pays homage to oldschool platforming games. "World One" is because this is an episodic game (much like certain oldschool games were, like Commander Keen). I actually already beat the game on Hard, now I'm just trying to get 100% on all levels.
- Bunker Punks. This is actually a game that is still not fully developed and still on Early Access, but the developer is constantly working on it - these two little fellas on screen are a new enemy that was recently added. It's basically a shooter game where you have to raid stations while fighting enemies on the way and acquiring new gear (armor pieces and weapons), then using your credits to purchase upgrades for your bunker. Once all your characters die or you finish the game, you can then use the tech you've acquired to buy new stuff - new weapons, gear, characters, bunker rooms and upgrades.
Right now, I'm just trying to unlock everything available so far before the next update.
- Overwatch. First of all, I apologize for the terrible screenshot. I used a match with bots because I didn't want to go in Quick Play just to take a screenshot.
A lot of people will probably recognize this one since it's all the rage lately. I play mostly support characters, mainly Mercy and Ana, but also play Soldier, Reinhardt, Lucio and Winston when needed.
Right now I'm taking a short break from the game. I've played it way too much from the Halloween event up to the Christmas event and I kinda burned myself out of the game. There's the Chinese New Year event coming up, so I'll probably get back to the game by then.
