So this is going to be a quick blog but its information that I believe needs to get out there.
So today I donated plasma. Its the first time I have donated in close to 5 years but I used to be a regular, having donated twice a week, every week for almost three years straight. Its something I believe more people should do. The only reasons I stopped was because 1. I had a bad nurse "blowout" my vein causing me to be deferred for two months and 2. I had just moved to Portland where a facility was not in easy access to my house.
Since moving back to Boise (go Idaho!) two years ago its been at the back of my mind to start up again but was just unmotivated to go back through the initial screening which can actually take awhile. I was there 2.5 hours today in total, or thereabouts. The reason why i decided to take the plunge was partly because of the money if I'm being honest but also because a month or two ago I ran across this Blog which in short talks about the MASSIVE shortage of plasma out there and how worried some people have become.
So I do strongly urge anyone who has a facility nearby to give it a shot. I realize its not for everyone and there are restrictions such as no body modifications in the last 12 months which I know counts out a lot of SG members but just remember you are truly saving someone's life. The money is just an added bonus. Thank you for reading.
Im tagging @missy @rambo and @eirenne because I believe this information needs to be spread but thats just my two cents.
Thanks again all
Much love
