The homework of this week, given by @missy ,@rambo, @lyxzen and @charmaine, is to write our favorite recipe. Mine is vegetable soup, because it tastes good and it's easy to make. But there are two things you guys should know before reading about how I make it:
1) I'm a lazy, clumpsy and disorganized cook.
2) I don't really care about technique, quantity of ingredients and presentation, not because I don't think it matters, but because, like I said, I'm a lazy cook.
That being said, let's start! First, I grab the biggest pot I can find (I make a lot so I can eat it for a few days xD), fill it half way with water and bring it to a boil.
While the water is heating up, I cut my vegetables. I use: carrot, potato, japanese pumpkin (kabocha), chayote (I just found out this is how "chuchu" is in english and it's weird .-. ), mandioquinha and french bean. I chop them into ~3cm pieces and put them in the water. I usually put the carrots first, because they are a bit harder and take more time to cook. Sometimes I add other stuff like onions, beans or tomato, but I'm terrible at cutting onions, beans take forever to cook and tomatos are messy, so I don't do this often...
I throw in some salt or a vegetable stock cube, cover the pot with a lid and go do my hair or watch something on Netflix. When everything is cooked, I add a handful of fresh coriander, stir it and let it sit for a while. And that's it \o/ If I forget the soup and it overcooks, I just blend everything and voilà: cream of vegetable soup!
