Craving the bass
For some reason I am hooked to the song Disco Science by Mirwais. People will recognize it if they have seen Snatch. Right now I am about to bust out some Daft Punk albums and give them a go for a few.
I thought I got fired from my job at Biaggi's but I still have it. What happened is that I said something to one of the managers, which he didn't wholeheartedly agree with.
It's all good since I have something that might be great occuring soon. A friend of mine who's been in Indonesia last year is trying to go back soon to help out with the citizens affected by the tsunami. The idea of going has been on my mind but money is limiting me. Well Ryan, my friend, informed me about this volunteer job he is applying for ,as he has knowledge of how I want to help out, and that I should check it out too. It is a UN funded job. There is a one year commitment asked for the volunteers yet for volunteer work it pays two thousand a month including free flight to Indonesia, hotel and board. Not too bad if you ask me. Plus my chances are higher than even my friend as I am Asian and I was told that applicants who are Asian or are from other foreign countries are being strongly considered over the typical-American.
So a new iPod will be arriving for me soon. My iPod acted up couple months ago and until a couple of days ago I turned it in. I know the lithium ion battery was shot since I could never recharge. The iPod was a 3rd generation 15GB model but instead of replacing the battery I am getting a new 4th generation 20GB model instead. Interesting how that works but I don't pay a dime since it's of equal value. Equal value in cost but man a 20gigger is definitely welcomed. Should be coming in this Monday.
Purchased a new graphic novel by Craig Thompson entitled Carnet de Voyage. It's a wonderful book that gives detail of his experience in Europe for the promotion Blankets from different countries it is being published for. The artwork is typical Thompson but some of the work are stellar. My gripe is that it the ends it starts getting weak but given that towards the end he went to different expos, interviews, and what have it all was getting monotonous. Plus he had a page limit to do this book so that's another reason to the alright end. Can't wait for his next book, Habibi.
