SPIRITUAL FOOD FOR THE DAY - 5/10/06
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - LIMITATIONS
How readily I admit that I can't do something when it isn't something that I like to do in the first place. But, when I get stuck in the WANT of doing something, I often times will overextend myself, pushing and sometimes exceeding my own limits, just to make myself look good, or do the impossible, what "they" say can't be done.
This is sick, sick behavior. Accepting my own limitations has to be part of the process for a healthy life, accepting and acknowledging. It is only throught an honest admission of what I can and can't do that I can see where a deficiency lies and correct or overcome it, or where my character defects are hindering my spiritual progress.
It is at this point that I recognize, when acting beyond my own limits, that my life has become unmanageable again. I can stop attributing the unmanageability to personal inadequacy. Recovery is the willingness to explore what is really under my control, and accept that much of the Universe lives outside my ability to influence it by force of will.
TODAY'S REMINDER
I can not do everything. There are things in my life that I will not be able to accomplish on self will. I may need help and it is up to me to recognize my limitations and work with them, not against them. It is only from a clear starting point that I can make optimal progress.
TODAY'S QUOTE
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
----Theodore Roosevelt----
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
GOD,
YOU HAVE MADE ME RICH BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS. HELP ME TO SEE THE WEALTH OF MYSELF AND KNOW THAT I AM EXACTLY AS YOU WOULD HAVE ME BE, AND NOT TO GET STUCK ON WHAT I'M NOT, OR THINK THAT I SHOULD BE. AMEN.
I PRAY THAT YOU HAVE THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY EVER! -AND KNOW THAT TODAY, LIFE IS GOOD! GOD BLESS.
