I was walking back to my house yesterday when, before I even got off campus, it started to rain.
Actually, let me clarify a bit--a huge storm rolled in fast, it began to pour and lightning was ripping across the sky in every direction. There was no helping it, I had to walk through it on foot.
And God was I glad to have a reason to! I love storms and rain in general more than I can describe here and for reasons too many to explain. There's just something calming and serene about rain spattering against you in a chill wind while lightning dances across the sky and thunder rolls all around you.
Everything in the world, for a lil while feels completely answerable or at least...trivial.

i stood up in my gold skin
and i beat down the psalms
and i beat down the clothes
and you undid the bridle
and you undid the reins
and i undid the buttons,
the bones, the confusions,
the new englad postcards,
the january ten o clock night,
and we rose up like wheat,
acre after acre of gold,
and we harvested,
we harvested.
Ribbon of life, it was nearing.
I saw the boy break out of his skin.
My heart turned over and I crawled in.
He cried, Break it up, oh I don't understand,
Break it up, I can't comprehend.
Break it up, oh, I want to feel you.
Break it up, don't talk to me that way,
I'm not listening.
