So here it is.
My weekend.
That I expected to be so much better.
Though there were some good aspects to it.
Friday I went out to eat Chinese food with my friend Laura. Fucking love that stuff. Afterwards we picked up Cody and Shane and went over to HYAMP to see a show I thought might have been better. Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable, but not to the extreme I had hoped. I did get to see Scenes, which is always awesome, and this band called Gym Class Heroes who were totally fucking awesome. I've never heard a version of hip-hop I actually liked.. but these guys were more of a.. indie/emo hip-hop type of deal. I very much enjoyed them, and the message they put across in their music.
The downside is that it really wasn't as awesome as my twelve dollars hoped. Then some fucker bit my hand so hard I had teeth marks in it for three hours. And that was before someone tried to jump over my head, but just landed on me and jammed their elbow in my back. Normally, I wouldn't have cared, but I was purposely trying to stay away from the mosh pit this time because I didn't feel all that good. Eh, whatever. I didn't even watch the last band, I just laid outside on the concrete next to my car with Laura (who was, though we didn't know it at the time, having a miscarriage ) And no, she didn't get in the crowd, so this was not her fault, so please don't leave me any comments attempting to bash her and call her a baby killer or some shit. We left and I took Cody and Shane home, and let her crash at my house.
Saturday was x-fest - for those of you who don't know, it is a concert type deal that's put on at Huntington Riverfront Park each year by our local rock station - just a big.. rock.. festival.. type thing. I wasn't so much interested in the band this year, but I have made it tradition for the past five years to attend anyway since I at least used to like the people and the whole atmosphere. For some reason that feeling changed this year, and I found that I wasn't too fond of most the people there for whatever reason, or the music for that matter. I concluded that it has a lot to do with my redundant attendence of HYAMP - a 'Punk Rock' venue that's more intimate - and the fact that X-fest is mostly a big scene for psuedo goths, metal heads, pot heads, and nu-metal heads, or so it seems. Punk Rock = good. Metal = semi-bleh. Sorry, that's just how it goes on me. Everything was going quite well, it was roasting outside, but other than that, I was pretty okay hanging out with my friends and just walking around people watching. This was up until I was over by the main stage talking to Kaylyn and turned around to see Nathan standing about fifty five feet away from me with his "new" girlfriend. It made my stomach turn completely over and I could literally just feel my breathing passages just close up. Kaylyn grabbed me and made me walk around a little bit with her, to help me feel better I guess, but as we were standing together, I turned around again to see them walking past me. I started to walk off quickly, hoping that Kaylyn would follow, but she didn't see me since she was talking to someone else, and when I looked back, my eyes met Nates and he just... stared at me until he had walked past. Worst feeling in the world at that very moment. All I could do was walk over to Tausha (another friend of mine) who was sitting on the hill under a tree, and lay down in the dirt and stare at the river blankly. I could have cared less whether I was laying in someones vomit - my mind had totally went blank, it seemed. I couldn't think about anything, I could only feel this horrible crippled feeling inside of me.
To make matters worse, as everyone was leaving, I got stuck right behind them (Nathan and Stacy) walking out. I pretended to not see them, but I knew he knew I was there.
Ehhh...
Anyway..
It was a bitch getting out of the parking garage, and my sister and her friends had been calling Kaylyn's cell non-stop because they had wanted to go ghost hunting with us that night after X-fest. We had planned on going earlier, but everyone we were taking had pretty much bailed on us - so we were going to reschedule. I did not want to take my sister or her two friend because I knew they hadn't been with us before, and didn't know how to handle the situation, or even what they were getting themselves into. Stupidly though, we (Kay and I), gave in thinking maybe it would be so bad...
moronic idea that was.
To place we had planned on going that night is called Lakin State Hospital, an abandoned sanitorium and school that's been shut down for quite some time. Quite some time meaning there's a labotomy room on the third floor. It's also a good hour, hour and a half drive from here (located in none other than Lakin, WV). So I take my car with Kay and I in it, and Tristan, my sister, Britney, and Tristan's boyfriend take her car. Of course I have to lead everyone out there for whatever fucking reason I don't know, but we finally make it there after some horrific driving in thick fog, and turn into the gravel road this place is on. Well, surprise surprise that Tristan and everyone else in their car suddenly starts to complain that they are tired and want to go home.
Keep in mind I just drove a fucking hour and a half and used up a quarter of a tank of gas just getting there, and I may have been tired too, but I knew when I got out of the car I'd wake up more.
"I drove all the way fucking out here, we're going in."
So obviously I was pissed off. So Tristan is like, you're right, and she, Kaylyn, Dustin (T's bf) and I get out of our cars with flashlights and head towards the building. Which, must I mention is scary as fuck, and the thick fog just added to the effect. My sister says she has to stay in the car with Britney because Britney had fallen asleep - which I think is a poor excuse for being a pussy. *cough* We step in the front door, and immediately to your left is a room, and then a huge flight of stairs. We decided to clear the first floor - but Tristan spazzed out and went back outside, claiming she was sick - so that only left the three of us. We walked around the entire first floor, where there's pretty much some empty rooms that appeared to have been bedrooms at one time, another flight of creepy stairs, and then a cafeteria and kitchen that still had a huge, empty fridge inside it. It was at that point, when Kaylyn and I wanted to look at the fridge, that Dustin decides to bail out and left us there. We wanted to go upstairs, but we were not going to go without a third person, and of course no one was interested. Basically, their attitude was "fuck a bunch of stairs", hah. As we were leaving the kitchen, some shadowy figure runs across Kay's feet, but it wasn't a rat or anything since she didn't even feel it and it was as big as a dog. So we come running outside, everyone is back in the car, and we're like, 'We have to get up those stairs.', and tried once again to coax someone to come with us. That didn't work out. Naturally. Kaylyn and I turn around and head back towards the building, because there was another building next to it, and we wanted to know what it was. It was too foggy to see though, and before we could get any closer, Tristan and my sister start yelling for us to get back to the car, fast. When we get there, they claim to have seen something in the upstairs window. They want to leave. Ruin everything, of course. We had only been there for twenty fucking minutes and they already wanted to leave. They start backing out, and Kaylyn and I get in my car and back up to where we can see the upstairs windows and start shining a flashlight in them. Suddenly Kaylyn's like "Fuck, I just hear a gurgling noise."
We got the fuck out of there.
Drove all the way home.
Got there around four am.
Pissed off and disapointed.
I'm not fucking taking those four with us ever again. If you can't tough out your shit and see what you are getting in to, then don't fucking come at all.
I have to go to work in an hour, and I'm exhausted.
Meh.
I'll stop here.

More than most guys I know. That's a fucking rad story about the Sanatarium. And the Lobotomy Lab?
So. Damn. Cool.
