So after taking Keylee home, Kaylyn, Erika and I decide to drive past this old ass church up the hill from where we are.
We're out in the fuckin' boonies - and it's pitch black outside.
So hey, haunted church? Let's go drive past it.
Anyway, so we drive up the huge, twisting hill and come around the corner, and there's the church. Dark, locked up, the historical landmark sign in front of it, the street light in the yard burning bright.
There's this story that the lights in the church come on at night, or will be on and turn off.
As we drive away, I'm looking in my rear-view mirror, sort of hoping I might see this. Just maybe.
This didn't happen.
But as I was staring into the mirror, the street light in the church yard goes completely out. Everything behind the car goes completely black.
So here I am saying, "Oh my God."
Erika stalls for a just a second, but almost imediately after me, looks back and just sort of shrieks in my ear.
Kaylyn's in the backseat - oblivious to everything. It was actually slightly funny, because she just says, "What the fuck is wrong with you guys?" *turns head slowly around as if in a horror flick* "Holy shit!"
So we're like, "Well, maybe it's some stupid coincidence."
I find myself turning the car around in someones driveway to go back.
We get back, the light is on again. I keep driving past and as I look behind myself, guess what? The light goes out.
We continue to do this, turning around and coming back - and the same kind of pattern keeps happening. Sometimes we'd go back and it'd still be dark, and the the light would come on.
Funny though, the light would never go completely out. It appeared that way from afar because of the trees, but really the light would only dim dramatically.
We drive back to get Keylee, because hell, we need to show her this seeing as the previous day we fuckin' broke into this place.
Yeah - I broke into a church.
They keep it locked up, it's not used - it's simply an ancient Methodist church that freed slaves used to hold service in years ago. At first I suppose we were just looking in windows, but they were all blurred out... so we just start checking windows.
Low and behold, the middle window on the right side of the church wedges open. Erika climbs through the fuckin' window, opens the door, and here we are in this freezing cold church. White wooded pews, old chairs, old piano, rusted black coal furnace. We just wanted to see inside. There's picture frames on the walls with newspaper articles in them. There's a collage of people who used to attend the church when it was new.
Having a strange feeling about everything, we ended up leaving.
Anyway - Keylee and Erika decide that they're getting out of the car to go look around. Typical horror film, let's-get-ourselves-killed behavior, huh? Then, of all things, they decide to go through that damn window.
Meanwhile, Kaylyn and I are sitting there, engine running, foot on the peddle ready, holding each others hands, thinking they're morons.
The window won't budge. Not an inch.
It was open just yesterday evening.
And nobody saw us there.
But now that it's black as shit outside - this thing isn't moving.
We drive away.
The light goes out as I look behind.
And the light stays out.
So tomorrow, after either seeing House of Wax or Kingdom of Heaven (I can't decide, what do you guys think?) - we're heading back out there to check it out. Try and go inside again.
Why do I listen to people?
I'm like Shaggy or Scooby.
I'm not fuckin' going in there.
I'm not fuckin' with that.
But hey, you have to take chances, and be adventurous sometime, right?

Well - that's it right now. I have a horrible sore throat, I'm getting sick.
I'm tired as Hell - but I can't go to sleep because I have to finish my photograph/english assignment.
Mehhh.
