I'm back. The weekend was nice. Got to have some time away from my kids for a change. Got some sleep. Went swimming! The hot-tub was more like a "warm" tub, but there was a steam-room and sauna. I met a couple other friends up there, and they asked us over to their room for margaritas.
My friends are Americans too, and they're having some scary shit going on. When their son was only 2 months, he took a tiny spill, with his dad right there. The dad could NOT have cought the baby fast enough. And for all of us who have kids, we know that kids will get into shit. They WILL get hurt. And there's nothing you can do about it. ... Well, Tristan broke his Femur. They rushed him to the hospital or called an ambulance. I'm a little fuzzy on the details. Thing is, the BRITISH social services took my friend's son! She's been visiting him once a week under constant surveilance by social workers and cops, for the last 2 months. Her husband was accused of child-abuse, and the first time he got to see his son in 2 months was last Wednesday! They're not filing criminal charges, but they're pushing for a court date to get Tristan adopted ASAP! I mean... WTF! ... He has to be adopted by an American, because of the weird ass laws. But if my friend gets her son taken away permanently because of this shit... I'd begin to understand some of the recent events in this occursed country.
I know these people. They're GOOD people. They were SO excited to have a baby. They took all of the classes together before he was born, and they were always reading parenting books. It's so bizarre how they'd just accuse him, didn't have any legal proceedings, and are trying to practically STEAL their son, for no goddamn reason. Like so many things on this Island... I just don't freakin' get it.
I think it has something to do with how young they are. He's 22 and she's either 20 or 21. I forget when her birthday is. I'm only 22 and when I am out with my kids, I get all sorts of looks and comments. I've even had one woman whom I had never met before, stop me while I was walking down the road near the mall, and start lecturing me on how I should fucking learn to keep my legs crossed. And she didn't even know how old I was. I'm a good fucking mother, and if anyone dared to take my kid like that, the embassy would be hearing from me every fucking day. I'd LIVE on the embassy's front lawn, until I got my son back! They're doing everything they can to get Tristan back, but if anyone here knows about British Laws, or even US laws about this kind of thing, I'd really appreciate anything you could interject here. (I'm FUMED, can you tell?)
Going to be another good mother and put my kids in bed. /rant

arly:
That fucking sucks. Strange how they do all this shit, and yet they've failed in 2 cases (probably more) to save children. Victoria Climbie and that little girl just a few weeks ago. The system works, my arse!

Fucked up. I think that adds England to the list of countries I wouldn't raise a child in (on purpose).
