My week has been fan-fucking-tastic.
First, my husband's work sched takes a U-turn and he starts on temporary graves. Then they mess with his hours really bad. He was origionally supposed to work 3pm to midnight (swings), then they changed it so he'd be working 6pm to 6am (12 hr graves) and then not ONE day went as planned. Here's a recap of what the schedule looked like for his work this week...
M- 3pm to 9pm. It was a little short, thank goodness, but he was just adjusting to the new hours and was seriously tired.
T- 7pm to 2am. Aproximately. I stayed up part of that with kids-with-nightmares.
w- 11pm to 10am. WTF!? Okay, he's an electrician on airplanes, and the plain was mid-launch when some electrical or air-conditioning failed. And You-know-who was the only one who could fix it.
TH- 1am to 7am. They tried to make it up to him by giving him until 1am to be in, after keeping him 4-hours-late on Wednesday. But about the time he usually goes to bed is NOT a good time. His schedule and body are WAY mesed up!
On that note, this weekend is going to suck too. He's on call for work, trying to re-adjust to being awake at his normal hours, and generally being dogged-tired from all the BS they pulled this last couple of weeks. Plus, the kids...
On Monday night, Zen kept me up puking. Crash was here, but he wasn't much help honestly. And his philosophy on parenting seems to be... "If I'm not the one covered in vomit, he must not need my help" . lol. You know, sometimes he can be a real asshole, but I guess the same is true of everybody.
On wednesday, we had to get groceries, and found out when we got close to the store that he didn't have to be in to work at 6pm like they had previously said. He didn't have to be in until 11pm, so we made a day of the trip to the Base. We did a little fun shopping (got a bunch of CDs... Ozzy, Godsmack, Rob Zombie...Shakira..... )
While we were out, we got the kids some ice-cream, and Luna got very sick. She is a little Lactose Intollerant, but usually a little bit doesn't bug her. She can have yogurt, cheese, and a little bit of milk, and have no problem usually. Not Wednesday. She waited until we were 6 blocks from our house to puke, but she was whining and crying the whole time before that. Then of course, she has to go and puke in the car. Lovely.
Then Druid had the Diaper to end all Diapers! He got his car-seat pretty well destroyed. I cleaned it of course, but DAMN! lol
On wednesday night, I had a major insomnia attack. I couldn't fall asleep until after 6am (and the kids are up around 7am). So I dozed off around the time I heard them stirring, and got up maybe 20 minutes after. I tried Everything to get to sleep. I tried a hot bath, a glass of wine, taking a benadryl (which didn't help my sinuses at all!)... and it was really hot upstairs, which usually makes me sleepy too. I wanted a cigarette like MAD, but they were in my car, at work with my husband! He of course got stuck at work until nearly 10am, and then I was up all day Thursday with the kids (I got a short nap with him when I put the kids down for their afternoon nap). Crash and I had an interesting little tiff when the kids got up from their naps. He heard them, I didn't, and he got out of bed, snapping at me for not taking care of it. I almost lost it, and I DID snap at him, but I stopped myself and waited a while before talking to him about it. I tried to make it humorous and relaxed instead of being upset. It worked somewhat I think. It's hard to tell with a husband who may or may not have Asperger's.
Thursday night was better, although he will probably sleep through the rest of the day until Dinner time, and by then I'll have properly lost my mind at the kids. I had a little sore throat yesterday, and my sinuses have been seriously bugging me for a solid week. I woke up today with a FEVER and my throat was alot worse. I think it's a sinus-infection, but I'm not about to spend the afternoon in the ER with 3 screaming kids just to get it checked out. And being as it's Friday, I won't be able to get an appointment for it until Monday, if not later. *sigh*
Hopefully I'll be having company tomorrow. That is, if everyone feels up to it. I've got this friend who i've known for several months, who shares nearly ALL of my interests and her husband is really cool too. Thing is, we haven't actually MET yet. lol. I'm not one for meeting folks online. I think it's creepy. But she's a military wife from the same base as Crash, and it's not scary or anything. If all goes well, they'll be coming over tomorrow to hang out, maybe role-play and drink. Not sure yet. It was her birthday yesterday, so I want to do something for her, I just don't know what. She didn't even want to celebrate, but I think I'm going to make her.
Sunday is Easter. We're planning an egg hunt with my friends Jess&Calvin (yes, it's all one word. They're not joined at the hip, I guess, but damn-near!) Between my brood, her kids, our friend Lori's bunch and our divorcee-buddy Chris... there's going to be 12 kids. That's IF Michelle doesn't show too, with her 2. lol. I think that's a bit big for one backyard, but we didn't organize anything until now, so it's not like we could take it to the community-center or chapel. *shrug*
Okay, I know that was a bit extraneous, but it's out of my brain now, so it's worth it. Tons more, of course, just have to save it for tomorrow.
... and a random Monkey...
