So yesterday I was supposed to take Toni to see System of A Down (for her birthday). Unfortuantely, she bailed yesterday morning. So I took "mini me" up the road. I stopped along the way in laplata at this Hair salon. Applied for their receptionist position. I dont think Ill get the job. Theyll look at my application and my previous pay rates and freak out! Unless if they think they can afford me, I dont expect to get a phone call. Then I headed up to Baltimore. The opening band....... bad acid trip, well was interesting. Kinda reminded me of the sounds of sinacage back in the day. NOW......... if you dont like criticism please STOP RIGHT HERE! THE MARS VOLTA makes my head hurt! Seriously I havent sat down for so long and thought I was never going to get the time in my life back, since I saw Rush last summer. GROSS! Really, I feel as if the 70's show were to have a band, that would be it. Dont get me wrong, Theyre all talented people, really but when you get 8 people on stage playing every fuckin instrument possible in the book......... kinda reminds me of what band practice would be like in my house. i.e Imagine me practicing my saxophone, while my lil sis plays the piano, whiel my older sis plays the drums, my niece plays the bells, my brother is on his guitar, and my dads walking around whistling, while my mom is singing of beat....... It's a mess! I think out of the 40 some odd minutes I sat there I heard one song I possibly took an interest in. You know the one about not sleeping alone or some shit. The one where he actually sings rather then songs just basically composed of filler. Yeah really its all good, if thats what they want to do........ if your into the whole Rush /led zepplin sort of thing. That is all you........ Not my cup of tea. Thanks.
You know your at a Baltimore venue, when the show starts and its fuckin empty! I was rather surprised at first to see the vacancies at the arena. Until System of A Down played and almost every seat was full with the exception of those in the back........ odd how that works.
I suppose they were all outside in the designated smoking section watching (the big guy with his shirt off) let people try and sock him one in his gut. EEK! I dont know what is worse. Watching that or The Mars Volta. Anyway System of A Down was really good. However, I was dissapointed....... They start off with B.Y.O.B. (Just like on the Album) Wasn't what I thought it to be. Maybe they were just getting started or maybe the songs over produced. ::shrugs:: I dont know. It was still ok. They played pretty much all the stuff. There was a point when I was like They have only played 2 new songs . Then there was a point when I was like....... what the hell are they posibly going to play next, then another great song would pop up, like Ariels or Toxcicity. They did a great job on the old songs.........I loved it. Afterwards I headed over to Fletchers to hang out with "YOUR MOM"! haahahah Which I was text mesaging at the show. My sis turns around and goes. You both are texting each other and he's 8 seats down one row behind us. hahaha So anyway I had to hang up some posters for the Charm City Saints Show that will be held at fletchers on Friday. Which unfortunately, i do not think I will be in attendance too. Since alston is playing in Gaithersburg that same night. Its actually a closer drive for me then baltimore. Alex asked me yesterday if I was going. I told him I talked to jesse and he gave me shit. So I didnt really know how I felt about it yet! He told me that I shouldnt give Alex the time of day, Actually thats what I told alex, not the real words he used! haha But, he did say to do whatever i gotta do. So he'll get over it. I hope. Besides, I think mom and trina are going if its an all ages show. Who knows...... I really need to clean. This blows.
