I'll start with the bad, seeing as how the most recent note worthy event doid seem to make the year end on a somewhat sour note; I lost an old friend, and someone who probably made the one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) impacts on my life, when we parted ways I had spend almost every single day on 1/4 of my life with her, that shit is crazy, even when we weren't talking, I didn't expect anything like this could happen. Suicide is no joke people, nobody wants to see someone they care, or cared about go out like that. Even if you think someone is just "crying for attention" don't treat it lightly; that attention could mean the difference between life and death.
But with the year ending like that it gives me even more of an appreciation for all the good things that happened.
I'm finally living what has been my dream for a fucking decade! I'm getting to tour and see tons of new places and experience tons of new things, and it's just an added bonus that I enjoy playing the music that comes along with it. I got to travel all around Europe for a month straight. I got to play with some of my favorite bands, and there is still more to come.
I got to meet some amazing people. I've begun to form legitimate friendships with some of said amazing people. I've mended broken friendships and reconnected with people. I managed to somehow maintain a healthy relationship. I got my dream guitar. I got to go to a bunch of amazing shows (primarily in The Land of Kings). I continue to ruin my life with awesome tattoos...
And the list goes on, but I'll stop there.
Life is short people.
Fuck your grudges, they're not worth it, you're only holding yourself back.
Appreciate everything in your life (even, and especially the little things) to the best of your abilities.
Take time to "stop and smell the roses."
There is more to life than money; I'm fucking broke and still happy.
Life is about experiences, not money and material possessions. When you die, the only thing you take with you are the experiences you used to enrich your soul.
Next tour starts Tuesday and I couldn't be more excited.
2014 is gonna be dope!
