The holiday weekend was interesting.
Friday night:
I went to Drum n Bass night at Ulana's with Miss Chievous (Derby teammate). We had a good time making fun of the fake ravers. Some girl (whom we both originally thought was a boy) came over and hit on me, but we thankfully escaped before she asked for my phone number.
Saturday:
I worked during the day, which basically consisted of finding things to clean and stalking people online. joshualane and I went to dinner at A Full Plate Cafe in Northern Liberties. It's relatively new, and it's fucking amazing. I had mint tea, fried pickles (which I've been craving for weeks), fried green tomato and mozzarella salad, and the best macaroni and cheese ever (next to my mom's, of course). The bread pudding was pretty good as well. We explored Liberties Walk for a little bit, and we found a cute but overpriced gallery there. We hung out at his place until 12 or so, at which point we decided to be nosy and explore the fire in the gayborhood. There's nothing like seeing scantily clad trans hookers prancing down the street toward fire trucks. On my way home, I witnessed a bunch of emoheads mounting their friend up on a life-sized crucifixion cross and taking camera phone pics. I love this city.
Sunday:
I worked again, which consisted of doing random updates on all of the work computers. I went to
dinner with my ex at Ruby's Diner, because we have an unnatural obsession with that place. I purposely didn't eat lunch so I'd have room for the jalapeno cheese sticks. Mmmm, chocolate banana malt shakes. We went back to my apartment for a bit, so she and the puppy could have some reunion time. I don't think I've ever seen him so relieved. He missed her, but he was a bit confused. I think he thought that she was dead.
Monday:
I enjoyed my day off by not doing much of anything. I caught up on all of my laundry, which feels really good. I never have time to do all of it. The puppy and I relaxed in our pjs and watched 'Ocean's Eleven' and 'Boondock Saints'. texappeal came over for 2 hours or so. I wish she could've stayed longer since I hadn't seen her in a bit, but such is life. At least I got hugs and a few goodbye kisses. I think Mackenzie got more kisses than me.
Today:
Nothing so far. I'm still in my pjs, and am thinking of going swimming in my parents' pool. The lovely Miss Karma and her Monkey are having a BBQ tonight, so I'm excited about that.
Hope everyone's having a good holiday so far!
