Ah, thank all the gods for SPRING!!
There is no greater season in my heart than this one. Beautiful people taking it easy, moving a bit more slowly and having more fun are everywhere. The world's pace slows to match my own. Winter feels too serious, Fall too industrious. Summer is great, but there is no subtlety to it. It is just all blazing sun. Spring is always just fresh and clean and new. Evenly balanced. I was born in Winter, but I would love to die in Spring. It lets you know that life will go on, and that it is unstoppable, as ivy tears through your paint and finds new places to cling to every eave and corner of your home.
I also want to mention that I really appreciate talking to my new found friends on here. I am especially fond of those of you who are truly artistic mindsets and who are striving to achieve something, not just posting things on here to make you feel better about yourselves. -Not that getting a little credit for being attractive or clever about your photography is a bad thing, but what really pops to me is when it all comes together to make something more. Really great sets on here stem from the person who makes them really expressing themselves in an original way. In those cases the theme of the set and the frame of the girl are just background to some greater story. Thirty to sixty photos can really tell a great story. Think of the girl that supposedly posted photos of herself after she quit her job because her boss was hitting on her...She turned out to be a model, and it was a totally made-up story, but the fact is that she became a huge sensation over-night because her story was one that people could related to and care about. Now, in a way she cheated by using cue cards to say things she wasn't able to express with just her body and the photographer's skills. Nonetheless though, this is a terrific demonstration of the power of narrative in a photo set. Those who have done that on SG in new and different ways really impress me, and meeting some of you -even virtually- is an honor!
So who would like to request something of me? Would anyone like to see a photo set of mine?! I have some, though I am not really trying to publicize them. I would like to talk artistic and creative ideas with anyone on here who is interested. I have some ideas for sets I would like to see someone on here do. I did a short film in college I think would translate into a great photo set idea on here!
