I had a surreal experience a week or so ago. Ran into someone that I used to work with. At her new job. As a burlesque dancer. She's really good at it, but it's a little hard to see the demure (somewhat uptight) person that I used to know as a dancer. I certainly have no problems with dancers, I used to live with a stripper (platonically, she was a little too crazy for my tastes, though I did run security for her on occasion).
She's been hiding her new job from most of her ex-coworkers, so I haven't mentioned it to the people that would know her. She didn't tell me to hide it (for that matter, she ignored me at the show), but I think that if she wanted people to know, she would have mentioned it. She'd certainly get a rush of new business if people knew, but I'd guess that it'd bother her if it was old home week at the show.
Still, she's a hell of a dancer.
