Hello true believers!
Today is another one of those really good days. This past weekend was quite amazing. Starting off with a great win in overtime for my club on Thursday night, things could only get better. Friday I slept in a bit but then got up and watched some Archer. If you haven't watched that I highly recommend it. Then Friday night I picked my girlfriend up from work and we went to her place and made pizza. It was pretty amazing. It had Chicken that we mixed with hot sauce and chili peppers, green olives, pan fried mushrooms and onions and then we topped it off with cheese of course. So delicious! On Saturday I spent the day in Lethbridge at the air show for work. A few of our players got to go for a ride in F-18's, I was super jealous. It was a very long day though, we left at about 8 in the morning and didn't get back to Calgary until about 11pm. By the way you can check out the F-18 video here
Star gazing
Saturday night was probably one of the best and most memorable nights of my life. Despite being exhausted from such a long day, I still got together with Tam (girlfriend). We were over at her friends house and we had a fire out side. The sky was so clear, Tam and I escaped into our own little plane of existence and just stared up into the night sky. I'm a bit of a astrology enthusiast so I was pointing out some of the constellations and different stars. Then we came back to reality and realized everyone had gone inside for the night, so we stoked the fire a bit rolled a blanket out on the ground and just laid there together. Very romantic.
Speaking of which
I consider myself to be a pretty good cook. Not the best, but I definitely know my way around the kitchen. Tomorrow night Tam is coming over for dinner and I've got it all planned out. I'm going to make homemade chicken cordon bleues, parmesan baked asparagus and wild rice. I picked out a red wine from Bordeaux, it's sort of a mixture of a bunch of grapes so it will have a sweeter and bold taste that should go very well with the chicken. This will be my first time cooking for her, we thought it was only fair because she cooked for me last Friday. I'm always looking for new recipes too, so if you have some I'd love to hear them! I have a few of my own that I've perfected, like my ham! I make a mean ham, haha!
Worst dating experience
Since I'm kind of on the topic, I thought I'd share a story that in hindsight is pretty funny to me but at the time absolutely horrifying. Let's go back four years, I'm 21 and fresh out of a relationship. I've decided that I'd start trying online dating. So I find this girl and she is amazing, we can talk for hours on end, she's smoking hot (way out of my league) and we had so much in common! We spoke for a few weeks over the net via email and chat, then we exchanged numbers and started texting each other all day long. Then we had a few phone conversations and finally we decided it was time to meet. Look for the red dress, she said.
I arrived a few minutes before we were supposed to meet and I took at quick look around the restaurant to see if she already got a table. I didn't spot her so I texted her to let her know I was grabbing a table and to let me know when she got there. Then I received a text back that said "Already have a table, near the back." Well I looked up, near the back there's a girl in a red dress there, but she's like 50 or 60, can't be her. I look around some more, maybe she wore something different, nope I don't see her, maybe I'm at the wrong restaurant? I text her again "I think i went to the wrong restaurant, I feel like an idiot" to which I almost immediately get a response "look up I'm waving at you." My heart jumped into my throat and I went paler than a ghost. The 50 year old lady in the red dress at the back is waving at me. How could this have happened? I've seen pictures, we talked on the phone! I sit down and the first thing she says is "I know I have some explaining to do" I can't even say anything, I stare at her in shock.
I'm not even thinking about the fact I've met up with an older woman, I'm thinking of how she lied to me and how betrayed I felt. Anyways, she explains how the photos are of her daughter and how she had signed up for the website but found someone very quickly so she decided to use her daughters account before it expired. The first words I can form are "I need to go to the washroom" she nods and I think she knew then that I wasn't coming back. As I walk towards the bathroom, trying to think of how I'll sneak out the front door or maybe see if I can squeeze through a window in the bathroom, one of the waiters walks up to me ask asks if I'm okay. I guess I'm still white as a ghost. All I can do is look over to my table where the woman in the red dress is sitting and without a words spoken the waiter nods his head towards the back and beckons me to follow him. He leads me out the back door in the kitchen and I drive home horrified over the experience only to log back on when I get home and start searching again. True story.
Something to think about
I'm going to open the floor here and try and get some interaction here. What is your worst dating experience? What's your favourite home cooked meal? Do you enjoy hiking? What are some of your favourite places to go hiking? And of course creative writing! Are you working on anything? Just enjoy reading it? Share, share SHARE!
Cheers!

Favourite home cooked meal? Breakfast, I'm rubbish at making dinners, unless it's on a BBQ, but I am king of crepes, a waffle warrior, an expert with eggs, Yeah breakfast is my bag.
I don't normally hike but when I do I enjoy the Niagara Gorge, and the Bruce trail here in the Niagara Region.
Currently writing some Mass Effect fan fiction, and reading A Song of Ice and Fire just picked up A Dance with Dragons.
