right when i'm nearly bored to tears...
things get interesting.
...one of them is damn cute too.
edited to add...
today i woke to an auctioneer.
there is a tow yard across the street from my spot, that has auctions the first sat of each month.
although i have lived here more than a year, i have never been here when this happens.
so this morning, i make some coffee, load up and go for a stroll, cup in hand.
there are all kinds of people milling around, and a cowboy with headgear chirping and yammering numbers.
i talk to a towdriver about where the cars come from and how it is some of them get to auction. some of the cars were actually fairly decent and going for less than 200 bucks. some it was obvious they were abandoned, but others looked like the owner would be right there for it.
there was one car that looked like a kid had been living in it, when it got towed. that was kind of a drag.
so... there are alot of weirdos that turn out for this. tweekers and shits... when the mass of people are at one end of the event, there are a few ransacking the trunks and glove boxes in the back.
all types though... there was a really well dressed older hispanic man there, and a brotha all g'd up in ponytails. he was rolling a navigator with the hugest chrome choppers i've ever seen. i don't know what he was doing there.
there were mostly white trash and hillbillies though.
it was interesting.
