if i close my eyes and completely relax, i like to stare into the darkness and look for a horizon. if you can keep the internal dialog in your head to a minimum, eventually, you become aware of things moving in the peripheral of your vision. it's kind of like staring into a fog bank at night, or looking at a dim star that you can't see if you look directly at it. if you keep looking around things start to take shape, and usually i can take something back that i can use in my drawings or whatever.
i don't know if this works for everyong, but i suspect it probably does. i haven't talked to many people about this.
alot of times i get distracted and it doesn't work that well or i just fall asleep. other times things are just too abstract to try to communicate verbally or on paper.
now here is the weird thing...
the most bizarre thing i've encountered ( this has happened on a few occasions) , is i can "hear" conversations that aren't my own. this isn't a schizo kind of hearing voices thing. it's like my mind is wandering. not so much narrating as much as just looking around. then at some point i become aware of a dialog in the din of all that is going on in my head at the time, and i can kind of "listen in" on what's being said. usually i can understand the words but not the meaning. alot of the time, it's talk about math or physics concepts that i can't even repeat much less understand. other times i think it's other languages, but i don't speak other languages. other times i understand everything, but it's just nonsense, so it doesn't mean anything and i can't repeat that either.
i have a couple ideas about all this weirdness but i don't know.
have anyone of you experienced anything similiar, or am i losin' my shit?
