MAXIMUM OUTPUT! COMMENCE WITH LEVEL 5 STAGEDIVES!


I've been listening to a lot of Terror and Shutdown lately. Seriously, Shutdown is a New York Hardcore band that should have kept on going. This is one of the most pivotal bands in my life. You just have no idea how much I fucking love them.

ANYWAY...

This past week or two has been great, to be honest. Since last Monday, I had seen Elyse every night of the week and she stayed the night with me Saturday night and watched me get in my little US Navy gas station attendant uniform (Utilities) to go to drill weekend. Which, speaking of, is fucking lame as all hell. I do absolutely nothing for 2 8-hour days, but at least I'm getting paid for it (approximately $275 per weekend). I still need to try to get myself into VR-59, because I'm just gonna go insane with this bullshit little unit that does nothing all day.

I haven't been able to see Elyse this week but we talk everyday and that's good. These past 2 weeks seem to have gone by really fast, actually--maybe in part because of her. She's really great, but I feel really shitty about how enamored I am with her; I am not gonna try to get my hopes up too high because I'll wind up jinxing myself with her. I'm gonna at least be very mindful of everything with her and keep her on the pedestal she deserves.

Friday I went out to the Sounds of the Underground tour. It was great; I got to see Madball, Terror, Throwdown, and GWAR!!! A storm rolled in right at the end of GWAR's set, so I didn't get to see Lamb of God, Unearth, or Clutch. I did, however, get to stomp the shit out of idiot metal morons in the pit. During Madball this motherfucker slammed into me and busted my lip really bad, so in a dogpile I wound up stomping his ass like the piece of shit he is. THEN during Throwdown's horrible and disappointing set, this other fuckstick rammed into me while I was trying to get some 2-step action going (he was targeting hXc dancers), so I turned around and body slammed him onto the concrete. That'll show those fuckwads to fuck with hardcore kids during HARDCORE shows. Most all of the day I spent it kicking it with my friend Christina, her boyfriend Randy, and Nate (which Randy and Nate are part of the CCDS crew from Louisiana). The three of us guys were the only ones at Sounds who were X'd up; it was awesome being the mean Straight Edge guys there.

School's been going okay. Lots of reading I have to do for just 2 friggin' classes though! But it's cool because my English Comp II teacher is this hella chill 26 year old guy. My US History Before 1876 class is okay, but lots of notes and reading, though. My first test is Monday over from the Vikings to right before the American Revolution. Saddest part of all is that there isn't much eye candy in either class--just one girl in each class that catches my attention.

I've been worried a lot about Randy recently, too. Monday I got an email on Myspace from him telling me to call him immediately on his friend's cell. It turns out Randy telling me this super-long story about how he was running for his life from a drug dealer and his crew. Apparently the dealer thought Randy scammed him out of some Xanax pills (about $20 worth) and was gonna beat him down or KILL him. So he freaked and ran. Apparently everything seems okay now (the story got cleared up early this week), but Randy is still wary. I've told him to stop fucking around drugs and shit, but he didn't listen--even when his regular coke dealer/friend OD'd and died. He's going broke, too, because he has to pay for his auto tech school's tuition AND pay rent AND pay all his bills--without the help of his roommate who's not picking up his half of the bills. His cell even just got turned off and is why I had to call him on his friend's. I feel so helpless to be there for him when I live in Fort Worth and he lives all the way out in Houston.

To summarize everything:
- I have been seeing Elyse a lot, but I'm being careful not to move too fast with her
- Summer Term II sucks ass
- Randy almost died last weekend
- My Naval Reserve drill unit is lame as all hell
- Sounds of the Underground was awesome (even though I got my lip busted) until it started pouring rain after GWAR
