I broke up with Whitney today. She slept through her class this morning, but I went over to her place after school. She wanted to go out and do something today, but I found out she also wanted to talk about "us." It's ironic that I went over only to talk about "us" and basically break it off. We had a long civil conversation about why I was unhappy in the relationship. She was actually rather shocked that I wanted to end it regardless, because she knew I was unhappy and she wanted to change her ways for me. I told her that I wanted to leave this relationship, regardless if she changed. If she changed, she would only do it to satisfy me and she wouldn't be doing it for herself. It would be very possible she would revert to her old ways, should we would have part ways later. People don't change, and this is where the saying, "If you aren't now, you never will be," comes in to play.
I think it was a very adult decision to talk calmly about it and give my reasons for leaving the relationship. It sounds horrible that I won't give her a second chance, but if you understand the mentality I have about people, you'd probably agree with my decision. So, Whitney and I ended it wth a long hug and I quietly left......
