Just finished watching Equilibrium, with Christian Bale and Sean Bean, for the millionth time. It's amazing how close to reality this movie and others like it really are. Books too come to think of it. Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, 1984. Idiocracy is another one. But people watch these movies and read these books and it's startling the numbers of them that are blind to what's going on in the real world around them. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Sometimes I wish I were one of the happy ignorant masses, completely oblivious to the sad state of affairs in this country. It's funny, I spent most of my life dumbing myself down to fit in, not that it ever worked anyways, and now the same people I wanted so much to fit in with are the ones who make me sick. My ex fiance is a prime example, but that's a blog for another day.
