Friday night I went to a national lawyers guild party/fundraiser. It was at my old friend Esch's house and it was good to see him. I used to hang out with him years ago, but we've drifted apart since. My friend Breggin, who owns a bar and is thus busy most weekends, managed to sneak away and join me and we jabbered on drunkenly about how the twin towers were demolished on purpose. I finished out the night playing phonetic themed japanese sex scrabble with my favorite crush waitress.
Saturday I got up early and continued reading Romain Gary's Madame Rosa, about a boy who is raised in Belville by an aged prostitute. Brilliant little book. My friend Tara stopped by to tell me she was going to Milwaukee. Hopefully we're doing sushi later this week because i need bento.
Sunday I went shopping. I finally bought myself some new pinstripe pants as well as studio headphones. I learned this on my escapade: Malls are disgusting. Areas around malls are even worse. Shopping in general is pretty loathsome unless there are pretty people everywhere buying pretty things. Here in Madison, everyone is fat with chunks of food- court debris hanging from their shirts. Hopefully I can make it to NYC in May.
I started Hustle & Flow but haven't finished it yet.
It is proving a little difficult to jump-start my day today. I think it is due to daylight-savings, which screws me up for a couple of days. I had a latte but it has only made me a little jittery, not focused and smart like it is supposed to.
Did I mention I made a tuna casserole? It was a joke, but it turned out really well. I wanted to make a typical gross one, with potato chips on top and everything, but then didn't. I think it was a final farewell to winter foods.
