Well, its been 5 months or so since my last real post on here... a good part of that is because it seems like even when you write something, no one gives a damn unless you're being completely shallow like look at me look at me. But I'm sure my account will end in the next few months so I will give this shit a last try at being part of the community before I give up.
Work
My last post was back in February when I started a new job. I'm still there and I love what I do. It really helps being quite good at what you do, even though I think I leave much room for improvement, which means everyone else just isn't cut out to do what I do. I am also a hell of a lot better than my weekend counter part who had bagel experience and was my boss' golden boy for a while. But half the time I am picking up one of the two days a week he works. Six days a week of working at 4am starts to become stressful. But I almost have to do it to prove myself as the mangement caliber employee they want.
Biggest Purchase Ever
So after a couple of weeks of Heather waking up early with me to take me to work, we decided enough of that shit, we needed another car. We went out and bought a new Hyundai Elantra right off the showroom floor. It was only a 2008 but we saved an extra $2000 by getting a year later. But we got a a brand new car, with the incentives, the sticker was down to $15K. We were both pretty excited, first brand new car for both of us and we got a great price and it looks good and cheaper than some of the other car we were considering. Yay us!!!
P.S. A week after we got it, I clipped the the fence with the side mirror... oops
P.S.S. about two weeks ago, heather backed into a couple of metal yard chairs... d'oh
Biggest News of my Life
April 25th, 2008 Heather and I finally got married. All of April was raining weekend after weekend, but not for our day. No, we got fucking 90 degree weather and my big ass is stuck in a tux in an outdoor wedding. Oh man, I would have prefered the rain. haha. But it went great. We did the whole thing in Heathers parents backyard. Heather was stressed out about making our non-religious ceremony last longer and was throwing ideas out there like unity candles and shit.... LAME!!! Then out of no where I came up with the idea to plant a tree. Figured it would be a nice enviroment thing, symbolic thing to show the planting of a relationship and watching it grow, and supposedly some scandanavian country has a history so it gave us some to discuss. TREE PLANTING.... you can use the idea, but remember where you heard about it. Had a fun reception with all our friends, Out first dance was to Bon Jovi's "Thank You for Loving Me" which we were excited to come up wit a good song from a singer we both like.
After the wedding we stayed in a close by hotel before going to new york. We got a decent room on priceline for $50 but when we showed up they gave us a small suite and a hot tub in the room. Definitely if you get the chance, walk into your hotel or whatever still wearing a tux and a the dress. Everyone was congratulating, people working there, people leaving the club attached, it was cool.
For the honeymoon we went up to NYC. First time I've actually gone up there and stayed the night. maybe me realize something. I love philadelphia and I love having grown up in their suburbs. May sound lame but represent the 610!!! Nyc is interesting, but its too much to do in not enough time to do anything. We went to Mesa Grill which if you don't know is a Bobby Flay owned restaurant. It was pretty pricey. We spent $100 for the two of us with no drinks. But the food was excellent. Later that night we went to Caroline's comedy club. No one important was playing, but it was still a very interesting atmosphere. We had both wanted to go to a comedy club for some time now. Our second day was just a tourist day, did liberty isle, empire state, tour bus, etc and just spent a fortune and have nothing to show for it. Later that day, we went to the Dooney & Bourke store because Heather wanted to look around. Well, there was $195 well spent, haha. It ok, its her one occasional splurge so I forgive her.
The drive home was BS. Got pulled over by a state cop in jersey. I had my cruise control set to 70 in a 65. The cop said I was doing 82 in a 55 despite my cruise control saying 70 and my GPS saying 68. and there was no posting for said drop in speed to 55. Fuck New Jersey!!!! I now have my license priveledges suspended in Jersey which could make it difficult in a couple years to renew my PA license. Fuckers!!!!
