hooray! I just got off the phone with a chemical engineer that I had to interview for an assignment. That was the coolest thing ever! And also very enlightening because she works for the Shell refinery in the Environmental Affairs Dept. where her main focus is air compliance with the BAAQMD (Bay Area Air Quality Management District) and it really helped put an individual (and very well spoken and nice) face to the behemoth that is multinational corporations. I'm really glad I got to do that because it really is making things so much clearer now regarding my expectations of engineering. It seems like I'm pretty much fixed on majoring in environmental engineering because the more I hear about it, the more I'm into it! 
Anywho, I also had a nice makeout session with a cool guy last night. (damn, gina! I been getting a lot (for me) of actoin (yes, that's actOIn!) recently...hubba bubba!) Surprisingly enough he's a considerate lover! (see journal 9/18) I really like it when I can get hot and heavy with a guy and he's not just trying to fuck me. It makes me feel like he has some respect for me, which is something that I don't always get when fraternizing with the opposite sex.
My calculus instructor taught us this cool trick for remembering derivatives of trigonometric functions:
d/dx of the function = the cofunction! (gawd I love math! hyuk! )
so, equations of the day are:
d/dx (sin x) = cosx | d/dx (sec x) = secxtanx
d/dx (cos x) = -sinx | d/dx (csc x) = -cscxcotx
d/dx (tan x) = sec^2 x | d/dx (cot x) = -csc^2 x
So, calc homework now, class later this afternoon, transcribe interview, look for houses....today is a wonderfully productive day!
