Things were cool today and ended up very well.
I took a mellow day off of work today because last night was so crazy after I left Ceviche! I received a call from my friend Dana, she was crying and it wasn't a good time for her at her house to say the least. She was really drunk. She got into a fight with one of her roommates and by the time I got there she had already ran away from her apartment and no one knew where she was. I searched her apartment complex for a half hour on foot and found her in a ditch outside the main gate. She was dirty, sobbing, and bleeding from her wrist which was fucking insane. Apparently she took a shaving razor to it, but...
I put her on my back and carried her to her apartment, got the first aid kit out of my car and tried my best. Our friend Nicole was with us and she helped her get dressed in clean clothes, then we helped her get to bed. I didn't know my night would end up being so dramatic. When Dana woke up this morning, she couldn't remember anything from the previous night, her sister came over because Dana called her the night before and left her a message.
There are good sides and very horrible sides to drinking. This isn't the first time I have made this observation, because I grew up with alcoholism and drug abuse as part of my surroundings. I have some memories that I would rather not think about. I have seen some fucked up things, as I am sure most of us had, but I don't know man...
I will put last night on the list of things to remember the next time I have an urge to get shit faced. Some things are just not worth the risk.
Everything in moderation. Please.
But other than that, I had a good time at Czar tonight, my old door man job in Ybor, I met some really cool people and an attractive 24 year old bought me a drink. I went in there and that was the only drink I had. I was going to have a mellow night. Cameron played some songs I requested like "The Girl and The Sea" by the presets and everything was great. I had a safe drive home with no incidents and I arrived alive. Tomorrow is a busy day. I have to work in the evening, and then I am going to the Castle with some friends that I met tonight.
But I need to practice some moderation with my spending as well. Life is a series of checks and balances.
Thanks for reading, and be safe.
