Last year was a fairly rough patch of skin on our feet as we tried to walk down a new path tall and proud. Some of us earned a few new scars and others somehow found time to relax and catch up on all that media backlogged on our bookshelves. However we spent the past year, all of us can agree it was definitely one of the most different years of our lives. We all sought out new music to keep our feet moving, read new books to keep our minds fresh, and looked for ways to ease our anxious minds. We needed harmony in our hearts to make tomorrow a possibility for our family, friends, and ourselves.
Still today we're seeking a little more weight to balance the scales in our favor, but we can all agree that we're headed the right direction. Ask any wise old soul and you'll find that no path to balance life is an easy one, though every difficult journey is exactly the right weight we needed to tip us toward the direction we were meant to go. Take a seat, breathe in deeply, quiet your mind, and exhale the troubles. It's time to reflect on all the beauty that filled our lives these past few years and focus ourselves toward many more beautiful years to follow.
This is the art of @zen
Most of us are quite familiar with the work of this prolific photographer recently turned model and some of us might even be lucky enough to consider her a friend after many conversations or even a single photo shoot. Wherever you find yourself on the scale of one to zen [today], there is not one single doubt that you'll soon sing along harmoniously and find your moment of zen.
@zen has delivered top notch photography with some of the most gorgeous models since 2015 yet some days it feels like she's been around since the humble beginning of Suicide Girls. When it comes to quality, a keen pair of eyes and heart as big (or bigger) than the world brings us something no quantity of half-assed work could ever deliver. It's not about the tits and tats, the quick snaps and monetary earnings, but the visceral honest truth that teaches a thing or two about beauty. When that moment of self-awareness is captured and portrayed without a fancy frame to distract the eyes or abundance of fluff to disguise the subject matter we delve deeply into the moment ourselves to connect on a harmonious level. We see and feel the connection of emotion between model and photographer. The essence lingers like some of our most favored memories, the smells still wafting through the air and sounds echoing in our ears.
It's impossible to choose a favorite photographer with such varied talent ranging from @mel_z to @writeboy, @fromlimbo to @tripodski, or @akril to @shaine, but any of these amazing souls will tell you that, like snowflakes, the beauty is in the difference, the individuality and varied viewpoints. We see and maintain our own view from where we stand, but when we open up our hearts to see the world through different eyes we can finally see the world as a whole, the many facets that make up our own entirety. Even a mirror only shares so much truth with the individual adjusting their hair or applying makeup during their daily preparations. Balance.
This post is not about the many talents available on the site, the gorgeous faces that spend their time behind the camera instead of in front of it, nor about my opinions that will obviously appear throughout, but about the shared viewpoints that will come together here... and the specific model/photographer that the post is all about.
This talented, smart, absolutely adorable, youthful, delightfully spirited, gorgeous, marvelous human being is behind so many amazing sets featured on the site that it was hard to choose which ones to share with you today, but I implore you to seek out the many models featured here [and within her portfolio] and leave your love and support on their various sets.
Before we examine the beauty of each moment through focused eyes with our renewed energies (you were practicing your breathing techniques, right?) I wanted to take this time to celebrate a period in history I thought merely a dream until one month ago when I learned realizations can come true. I want to share with you the modeling debut of the one, the only, my biggest crush and woman with a magnificent smile and heart as soft, pure, and glistening as gold @zen. I wasn't prepared for what I once wished and asked, but through nervous, excited sweats and unblinking eyes I withheld the bewitching glory of this humble photographer in her full, curvy, exquisite magnificence. A love fool stumbling through words to describe and appreciation worthy is what I've become and why silence has set in for so long since my return to the site...
Shoot To Thrill by @cygnet
I know I base most of my knowledge on her private posts and through experiencing shoots through her eyes, but with conversations sprinkled throughout the years and the many revelations behind her adorable smile and dazzling eyes I've learned enough to exclaim her the sweetest heart and most honest person on the site. I have met few in person, held conversations with many, and become close friends with a selective crew of the world's finest women (and gents [photographers/members]) gathered here on Suicide Girls and without a single doubt I know this soul to be the brightest star in the night sky. She can light up a room as quickly as she can turn a smile. There's not an honest person alive that has shared the room with her and had a single negative thing to say. She's earned her name by focusing on the beauty of life through all of it's aches and pains, by inhaling the positive and exhaling the negative. She is Zen.
This wonderfully shot debut by @cygnet pops with vibrant color. The heavenly white background parts like clouds allowing the bright star to shine front and center. Enchanting curves, pale and marshmallowy soft, sink into the pink waters like love dipping into hearts upon first sight, emerging like elegant syllables pronounced as love reaches the tip of tongue. I had fallen in love before I had known the bosom bare, their curves mirroring that of her smile. Her eyes hypnotic behind the framed windows that set upon her button nose, bum barely able to steal full attention though a beautiful facet indeed. If there was a universe parallel to our own allowing this amateur bard to breathe deep the perfect moment of zen...
This is one of the most amazing debuts I was looking forward to for many years. I don't know if this means things can only grow brighter from here or if this is the peak shine, but no matter how bright the room just became I do know this warmth is going to linger and bring about that long awaited moment of my already too often used word, zen. Absolute perfection.
It's about time we explore a few sets from the other side of the camera.
Scooby Snacks featuring @leemalee and @cygnet
Starring the photographer of @zen's debut and one of SG's other prolific photographers and top notch cosplayer/model, Scooby Snacks is one of many highly rated sets so close to having made front page I'll consider it a crime against beauty as it teases it's way upward with numbers even today. @leemalee's Daphne is scorchingly hot in her sexy purple outfit that snugly fits her lovely curves with enchanting results while @cygnet switches up Velma's character and instills a powerful and seductive confidence that playfully balances the chemistry within the set. It's fan fiction with the honesty of both model's personalities shining through, vibrant, sultry, and without much mystery left for the gang to uncover.
Everybody Loves Tank Girl featuring @nebula (and technically, @foodone)
@nebula holds a special place in my heart as the other crush that can sing Bonnie Tyler in the shower like no other and still take on a new day's adventure without skipping a beat. This cosplay tribute to one of my favorite comic book characters gloriously adapted by one of my favorite comic book writers/artists (@foodone) remains one of my favorite sets of all time on the site. @nebula's portrayal of the freedom fighter with a big heart for Booga blends in her playful spirit, adventurous attitude, and love of exploring new venues. Though @zen plays the part of the artist snapping photographs of the delightfully cute and crazy Nebs, the model herself helps direct the overall brushstrokes of each photo with an extra dash of zest giving the set a unique twist not often seen in sets. Though all models are tasked with portraying themselves under the direction of the photographer, few have such perfect balance between artist and work of art. Models often stay within frame, so to speak, while this set offered much more creative freedom and removed the frame to make way for a free-spirited photography jam session. This is honesty at it's best, despite the portrayal of a fictional character there is much revealed in the reaction of this chemistry. These two should work together more often within SG and outside of the community to further push and explore their honest, creative spirits. Am I right?
I Will See You In Hell featuring @oakheart
@oakheart is a phenomenal model and also extremely cute. This Bob's Burger tribute features plenty smiles, lots of curves, and loads of fun. Although the set was simple and cosplay oriented, much of @oakheart's personality shined through thanks to our fabulous photographer. Vibrant in color, playful in nature, and sexy as can be, See You In Hell was an amazing follow up to You're My Zing and only managed more than half the amount of love. It's surprising she never turned pink even with @caustix bringing about his own vision of the blue-haired model. Although we can't earn this hopeful any front page spots, it'd be nice to see more love delivered her way seeing as @zen created two spectacular sets more than worthy of love along with more recent entries from hopefuls and SGs alike. She has a sweet smile, wouldn't you agree?
Voulez Vous featuring @kpax
Starring an out of this world beauty, this kitchen based set is one part caffeine, one part creamer, and all around sweet treat. @kpax isn't afraid to smile wide, show off her alien buddy, or let her curves do the talking when it comes to coffee and conversation. It's impossible to not fall in love with this beauty after witnessing her enchanting curves, but if you've let this alien beauty abduct you for personal story time then you're sure to appreciate her that much more. Her smile will charm you, her personality will delight you, and her efforts to turn every day into the best day possible will amaze you. Voulez-Vous is a simple, honest re-introduction to an established model. Along with Space Oddity by @madnessphotography and Undeniable by @sobelle it's a great way to learn a little bit more about this cool, calm, collected, and cute model.
Daylilly featuring @chalk
@chalk could easily be considered a third crush of mine with a smile so fantastic that it melts my heart at the mere thought of those luscious lips reaching toward the sky. An absolutely adorable sweetheart that has the curve appeal and looks of a top model yet a heart so humble she could actually be living next door, she's one of the coolest models I've had the pleasure to speak with even briefly. Confident, cute, and eyes as blue as a clear sky, this @zen shot set is one of many sets that introduces the woman behind the curves, the saccharine soul and heart so soft it might be made of marshmallow. Although @thump3r gifted us with a true debut (in my opinion) and @penny delighted us with a smile forged forever in my mind, this set remains my favorite re-introduction (of sorts) as she developed a better sense of self and showed us how much confidence self love can grant us. This is some chemistry I would love to see re0ignited in the future.
Itsy Bitsy Spider featuring @wednesdaya
I do love goth girls and @wednesdaya sits perfectly next to @penny when it comes to raven-haired beauties and their poetic perfection. This set keeps the black outfit, but sheds a little more than skin when it comes to sharing the soul of our petite female Poe. @wednesdaya brought us some fantastic sets with the help of @milloux, @caustix, and @leemalee, but this underrated set fits perfectly alongside those facets of this diamond black. Sincere, sexy, and remarkable focus on her enchanting eyes, Itsy Bitsy Spider will crawl into your heart and cuddle it with all eight legs. Let's bring this set some more love.
Neon Dream featuring @synthee
I couldn't rightfully claim that any model on this site has a less than captivating appearance, but when it comes to mocha irises and faces that make me forget luscious hourglass curves then @synthee holds the key to my memory. She has inked curves that could put any goddess to shame and a presence that defines the very word confidence, but even @zen's capture of her voluptuous feminine poetry barely tugs the eyes below her chin. Barely capable of piecing together something worthy of her luxurious lips or as bitter sweet as her eyes, I'll settle with simple praise for Neon Dream and all that is contained within. This set made SOTD fairly quickly for obvious reasons and I'm still trying to figure out if it's only a dream as the title teases or if this dream became reality as suggested by @zen's pursuit of honesty in photography.
Blue You A Kiss featuring @hachiroku
I wasn't around for the debut of this Portland hopeful's set, but after seeing @leemalee's and @cygnet's sets from 2019 I would be a fool to not recognize her more recent entry for the site. I can't say much about the mysterious blue-haired vixen, but I can say that it's as electric as the Pikachu inked on her cute bum. A simple set, an alluring woman, and 100% @zen.
Sweet Submission featuring @niffler and @kaliva
Fantasies really do come true when it comes to two honey-dipped hazelnut eyed beauties. Both of these gorgeous models have the most humble of hearts, enchanting smiles, and kindness that more than makes up for the lack of kindness we sometimes see on the streets. Seriously, there aren't two cooler souls ready to share their world views, help your find your own confidence, and shine brightly to blind you with their beauty than these doublemint twins. Their intertwined curves ignite a fire hot enough to equal 4 or 5 of any given @zen sets, but that doesn't mean this is any less than a slice of honest apple pie as the sweetness oozes out slowly and sticks to the roof of your mouth. If this set is Sweet Submission then load me up with sugar and allow my knees to bend in praise of your bodies, minds, and souls. A fantastic set truly showing @zen's growth as a photographer and a great example of a duo done deliciously perfect.
Read My Mind featuring @lanei
It's more tempting to read @lanei's delightfully petite curves than figure out the thoughts behind her delectable mocha eyes, but the saccharine sweet soul and warm heart behind her pert bosom makes every chapter worthy of study. A sweet and succulent SOTD that's simple, smart, sexy, and seductive. Bright, playful, and as cozy as the sweater she briefly wears, this set is an amazing third chapter in the trilogy they scripted together and I can't wait to see the upcoming sequels. @cdo and @amina crafted some amazing sets during @lanei's early days, but the quality and model's maturity are in full bloom (beginning with the 2019 set Divinity).
Heaven In Hiding featuring @jaylynn
@jaylynn is a fairly new model to these enchanted eyes, but after discovering her colorfully inked curves I'm intrigued to dive a little deeper into @shaine's work with the model and returning for a few more dips in the pool with this heavenly set. I might not be able to say much until I nervously work some words into a conversation with this magnificent dame, but I'm sure heaven isn't in hiding if this set reveals the truth as expected from our talented photographer.
Vegas Lights featuring @nayru
Is there much I can say about @nayru that you don't already know? Probably not, but the confident cutie with bright eyes and voluptuous curves doesn't go to Vegas without sharing a little of her own shine and glamour. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas as we've found out in a few sets throughout SG's history, but sharing can be half the fun and (in this case) a whole lot of beauty. Everything that glitters is gold in the case of this set and this is one heart that glitters brightly. Colorful, cool, and sexy set. Personally, I'm loving the chemistry and hope we see a little more of that golden heart through @zen's eyes.
Sweet Nectar featuring @cygnet
@cygnet's Sweet Nectar once again teases our tongues as she squeezes every last citrus sip from her sultry presence. Sneaking a little extra zest into @zen's recipe, every bite becomes richer than the last until the heart tingles with orgasmic ecstasy. A tantalizing delicacy full of flavor and flair, this wet and wild set heats up as it cools down creating the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Freckles and spice and everything nice.
Laundry Day featuring @tigerlily
The tantalizing tattooed @tigerlily debuted during my leave of absence, but upon my return I discovered this amazing new set and have since become a fan of the colorfully curvy cutie. Dangerous, deadly, and potentially the sweetest seductive model to join the ranks of Suicide Girls, @zen turned my head her direction and I couldn't help but give a small shout out before introducing myself to learn more about her.
In Bloom featuring @irismonet
Yet another model debuting just this past week, the beautiful and truly captivating @irismonet is now on my radar with another round of thanks headed the way of our fabulous photographer. Had I more details to tickle your fancy beyond the obvious sip of sweet hot cocoa with just a touch of honey and a few yellow marshmallows topping it off I would share aplenty, but maybe this discovery was meant for us to make together?! A beautiful set bound to turn a new hopeful pink!
This is just a small sampling of all the work @zen has done for the site, for all of us as members and fans of these many models. I wish I had the time to praise all and offer a bigger sampling, but I can only offer so much in such a short time. As you can tell, that's a pretty massive list of models to shoot and publish in a matter of six years, so we've all been gifted a LOT of beautiful imagery over the years and it's all thanks to the smiling girl waaaaay up top. If she hadn't enjoyed photography and had that amazing heart beating in her chest we would never have been exposed to some of these models nor some of these sets.
We all see the world through our own eyes and sometimes miss the little things that our partner, friend, or a stranger might catch. Seeing through the lens of a photographer allows us to pick up on some of those happy quirks and delicious details we might not have otherwise noticed. It's a big world and photographers (and friends) like @zen make that world a little bit smaller so we, too, can see the whole beauty that surrounds us and not just the few details we'd notice on our own. I appreciate every gift of insight that I've shared with you today and hope you do as well.
Remember to breathe slowly and take in your surroundings. When you move too fast life will pass you by as will the most spectacular moments. It's not about the ending but the journey to get there. Find the beauty in life. Find your peace, your happiness, you inner zen. Find yourself. Love yourself.
