I'm writing this before I go to work so I'll only do the quickest of quick reviews.
The Legacy: Been listening to them for awhile but never saw them until now, a few people have told me they're good on record but shit live. I found them extremely good, I think most people are slaging them off because they're moving in a more progressive direction. They're trying to strive for higher music ground and people don't like it, good for them, fuck the kids.
Negative Approach: They seemed to be pissed off they were playing under Madball (when I first heard about this show NA were billed as headliners, that's why I bough my ticket, Madball just kind of stole it from under their feet). They didn't really seem to get into the set until after they left stage and had to do an encore when people started chanting their name and singing Ready To Fight, they came back out and played two songs that were faster than anything they had played all night. They ripped through pretty much every song they wrote and a couple of Oi covers (Borstal Breakout by Sham 69 and Never Surrender by Blitz) for good measure in about half an hour, perfect.
Is it me or does their guitarist look like Capt. Spalding?
Madball: They're one of those bands I love for just being good at what they do. It took the first time I saw them live to win me over, before I just had a couple of their albums and thought they had a few good songs. They may not be rocket scientists but they don't need to be. Freddy announced their new drummer is Mackie from the Cro-Mags, I wondered why they had The Age Of Quarrel on the merch table.
