Saturday: I did this on a whim really, I saw this show advertised on the Metal Hammer board and thought I'd not bother going out on Friday, save my money, buy a ticket on the day and even if I couldn't get one I'd still go record shopping in London. As it happens the show was far from being sold out (my ticket was numbered 00027). Had a quick look in the second hand shop then took the tube up to Highgate as someone had given me a flyer for this shop that specialised in Noise artists, it was in the basement of this shop that only sold experimental Jazz, found a lot of cool stuff but like any shop that sell specialised stuff (like All Ages, like how Sounds Perfect was) it was all very expensive. Picked out some stuff that was too cuntishly price except for a Venomous Concept/324 split CD for 8.99, nearly nine pounds for six Grindcore tracks, but still I really wanted it, and a Todd seven inch for 4.99 and two Jandek albums for 6.99 each, neither of which I'd actually heard but seeing as the guy does three albums a year chances are it will be unlistenable in a good way or unlistenable in a bad way. Went down to Soho, got some James Brown and Bill Hicks in Sister Ray, had a quick look around HMV and Zavvi or whatever the fuck it's called now and went back up to Camden. Went into the Tai near the station, as I was paying for a takeaway box, I heard someone say hello to my side, it was Will, he's here to see Knuckledust too. Waited inside the World's End until I saw the line move because I couldn't be arsed to wait in the cold, bought the new Knuckledust album and put my bag in the cloak room.

Take The Pain: The name put me off to start with but one of them was wearing a Crowbar shirt so I thought I'd give them a chance, they started playing shit Melodic Death Metal then their singer, a fat, frumpy looking ginger woman came out in a fake bloodstained smock and surgeons mask doing death growls that were hardly audibly over the music, the question I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking: is this a joke? But then the song came to an end and the real comedy ensued. "That song was about fisting prostitutes, then fuckin' 'em and killin' 'em, this next song goes out to all the girls, I want you to come down the front, don't hide behind your boyfriend looking pretty this is called Drink Your Spunk Like A Good Little Bitch, and this is what I wished spunk tasted like" swinging from a can of Fosters. "This next song is about fucking pre-pubescent boys, this band is called Take The Pain and we like to fuck! Do you like to fuck?" thunderous applausewell, polite yelling really "If you like to fuck get your cock out for METALLLL"

Ligature: Kind of MySpace Metalcore but they were a bit Punky, didn't really dressed Scene and weren't really trying to be which kind of endured me to them. The singer was off stage pacing around the floor screaming for most of their set "you have to excuse us, well excuse me I've got a bit of, you know" gesturing at his face "AIDS" chimed a couple of his band mates.

Centurions Ghost: I think I've just found my new favourite UK Doom band. It's cool the promoters put on a show like this, I get to see Knuckledust who were one of the first bands I got into when I started listening to UK Hardcore, and I also get to see the kind of bands I'm into now that I'm jaded with it.

Knuckledust: First song, some guy kicks me across my arm and stomach, I hide behind the pillar near the stage for most of the set trying to protect my new tattoo. They played really well "for anyone who doesn't know, we formed East London twelve in 1996 and we're still going for God knows what reasonstill haven't got Guinness on the riderit's all I wanted really" Ray thanked all the bands on the bill and the promoter the Pierre interjected "and thank you to Gorerotted for being nice guys, they don't mind you smoking weed because they're smoking weed too" it was at that point I realised that Pierre had been talking slow like that the whole time. Tried to scream on the mic during Sick Life but seeing as they're a London band Pierre was only really giving the mic out to his mates.

Contemplated sticking around for Gorerotted but thought "nah, fuck it" went up to Centurions Ghost merch table, found their merch guy trying to sell the singer his own bands albums, asked for both of their CDs "two for thirty mate" "nah, don't listen to him, it's two for twenty, nah, make it two the fifteen" I gave him a twenty, he looked in a Tupperware box for change and found only a pound, he asked the merch guy what happened to the money "I've robbed it" he gave me a fiver from his own money which was cool of him, thanked him then had a look for Ligature merch, couldn't find any so I left. Went to Victoria, got a fruit salad and a coke from Marks & Spencer's, got a train to Chatham and a taxi home.
