Friday: Got to Tap before half eight, couldn't find anyone but it wasn't that bad, seeing as most people were outside to smoke I could find a quiet contemplative corner. At one point I was in the pool room and some guy asked why I was on my own "don't you have any mates here?" "not yet" "do you work here?" which is the second time I've been asked that but I suppose it's my own fault for going as much as I do. By half nine no one had still got there so I went to the Post Office to meet Chris, hung out for a while and chatted, Chris got annoyed that Ollie and everyone else was taking ages to get there from Rochester so we went straight to Tap without them, after a little while they did show up and so did Mills fresh from London, I wished him a Happy Birthday and he told me he went to see Om instead of the Death Metal show he originally planned to (bastard, I was thinking of going to see them), he hung around 'til after one am and much bollocks was spoken, most memorably I was telling him about this guy I went to collage with who nearly got banned from the Manor for getting caught shagging in the girl toilets a repeated number of times and Mills reply was "that guy should get a special hat for that, not just for shagging birds, which is brilliant by itself but for shagging in the girl's toilets, that's like fucking over enemy lines, that's like shagging a German bird during World War II" while a girl was standing next to me. Hung around with Chris, Ollie and his mates until ten to three, I went to the kebab shop were and young woman dressed suspiciously like a whore with fucked up scabs all over her body informed me, although she was sitting down, she was still in the queue. All in all, a good night.
Saturday: Think I slept three, three and a half hours. Helped Dad put up new shelves in my room then got a bus to Chatham. Saw Dave Courtney doing a signing in the Pentagon with five minders and a queue of less than ten people, which was a better turn out than the no one surrounding him he did a signing at the Sweeps festival, got a large Espresso from the better coffee place then walked up to the Tap, found all of Wired with Nadine and Paul from Anticomplex in the beer garden, after an hour they set up and played, opened with Go Fuck Yourself which was a first as Steve normally saves that for later in the set so he can do a self indulgent guitar solo, played their cover of Massacre by Thin Lizzy like last time and threw in a cover of Ace Of Spades for good measure, Mills showed up half way threw the second to last song, they finished and I did my sub roadie thing, helped them load Pat's drum kit into Steve car so they could take it back to his home, took Mills with him so they could have a joint. I was left with Liam, Pat, their Dad and his girlfriend, I was a bit intimidated by their Dad before but after having a chat with him about music and tattoos I've found that he's alright. Ignored the two bands that followed, one of them had a female bass player who was fit in an androgynous way, nearly watched them but I knew I'd just wind up staring at her and weird her out. Steve came back for his and Liam's equipment, left with Liam and Nadine. Watched the first song of Seven Year Kismet's set with Mills, then promptly decide that neither of us could be arsed to watch them and left for our homes.
