Friday: Walked up to the Command House and saw all of Wired with Nadine sitting on the grass about to roll a joint. Hung around and talked for a while. Went with Steve and Nadine to the Command House, Steve and Nadine got stopped for ID by the old bouncer, Steve explained he was in one of the bands and she was his girlfriend, the bouncer could tell she was under 18 and said he'd let it go this time but only if she didn't drink. We walked to the backstage area while the first band finished soundchecking. While Steve and Nadine started rolling cigarettes the sound man was telling the other band that they were having trouble with underage drinkers lately, a plain clothes policeman was likely to come down that night to see if anyone underage was drinking there and if so the Command House could lose it's license, we all exchanged worried looks. Somehow Wired got put in charge of the door and how much people paid to get in, Ben got lumbered with sitting next to the door and asking people for 2 when they came in. Hung out with Steve, Nadine and Liam while the first acoustic band played.
Wired: I had to watch from the side as Steve had made me roadie for the evening (which entailed handing him one guitar and taking the one he was playing at a couple of points in the set).
We went to Steve's car for a joint (well they went for a joint, I just came for the company), all Steve could talk about was how many mistakes they made, which I really didn't notice because it sounded good to me, Gabriel was so pissed off with himself for fucking up so much he just took his guitar and went home. Ben got a lift from his Dad and Nadines came along to pick her up, Me, Steve and Liam went back inside to catch the end of the last bands set. It was a young band from South Africa playing Alt. Rock, wasn't that impressed until I saw the singer had cut his hand open on his guitar, they played a heavy cover of Come Together by The Beatles and dedicated it to "Wicked, I mean Wired" they finished Steve and Liam chatted to them for a then we grabbed the rest of Wired equipment and loaded it into Steve's car. I was going to go to the Tap but with how late it was (and considering there probably wouldn't be anyone I knew there) I accepted a lift home from Steve. Sat in the back with the equipment while Steve and Liam passed a joint back and forth up front.
