Friday: Called my disability advisor and booked an appointment to see her next Thursday. Walked to Rochester, bought some incense and the local paper then walked home. Watched Sgt Kabukiman NYPD, ate showered, dicked around on the internet then started walking to the Tap. Got to Tap went straight up to the toilets and into a cubical, heard two guys come in, one who had a drink spilt all over his trousers moaning that he wanted to go home and another trying to dry him off. Found Ollie and the others in the pool room, Chris showed up before they all disappeared to the Manor. About an hour later Mills came, talked bollocks for a couple of hours, found out Steve is recording his demo at City Of Dis, which to be honest made me laugh, he keeps banging on about playing real Rock music and he's recording at a studio which every trendy British Hardcore band has recorded stuff. Stuck around for twenty minutes after Mills left to see if Chris would come back like he said he would, left about half eleven, amazed that there was actually a queue this week, and that they were even IDing people (well it was a group of young males, they probably wouldn't have bothered if there was a girl with them). Got some chips then walked up to the Taxi rank wondering why the fuck I even bother coming out sometimes.
Saturday: Your Demise album came through the post. Walked through Rochester to go to Chatham and found this in the car park next to Aaron Stone's
I suspect either a hen night or some girls 21st. Got my shopping in Chatham then got the train home and walked the rest of the way. Did my usual Saturday/getting ready to go out things then started walking to the Tap. Loads of really young Chavs out, saw a policeman standing over two lads sitting on Rochester Bridge writing something in his notepad. Got to the Tap and immediately noticed Chris sitting with all the Capricorns guys, I was a little nervous as Chris told me he showed Dean Berry a picture of my Dukes Of Nothing tattoo and thought he might make me show it to him. Found a quiet place to read in the pool room, every time I finished a chapter I went upstairs to see if they were ready yet, I damn near got to the last chapter of In The Belly Of The Beast. Ran into James and asked him when it was getting started as he's the official photographer for these shows Chris is putting on, he went off to check, came back and told me it was starting at ten. Had a chat for a little while, I mentioned that Steve was recording his demo at City Of Dis soon and James thought to text him and ask if he can take pictures and added that Steve will probably say something to Ben that will set him off, we got talking about being in bands and I mentioned that the band me, Mills, Steve and Danny had years ago fell apart because we all rapidly lost interest after the first jam session round Mills' house and we did have a drummer so James offered to do some drum tracks if needed, he couldn't make a commit mean to being a full time member because of everything else he's doing, went downstairs to get a drink (they only do J20's on the main bar), ran into Natalie the went upstairs for the bands:
Up C Down C Left C Right C ABC Start: Third time I've seen them, still don't like them, and oh what a surprise, they ended with that song where all the members play drums, although it interesting to see Chris jump onstage and join in.
Bossk: Tried to take picture on my phone camera but they didn't come out seeing as Bossk insist on playing in inky darkness. They played the first long instrumental song off their EP then finished with a new song that featured the vocalist almost all the way through. James came up to me later saying the were so good "I feel like they saved my life!"
Capricorns: Opened the set with Blood For Papa
Riff
Fucking huge riff
riffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriffriff
Fuck me, that's a riff!
"I want to thank each and every one of you . . . all fifteen . . .sixteen" then the finished with Transcendental Evisceration.
Bought their 12" EP off the other guitarist (already had it on CD, but I like having stuff on vinyl), said bye to James, went over the road to get some chips and ran into this guy, if I remember correctly is called Matt who I used to see down the Manor all the time back when it was good, then went up to the taxi rank.
