Thursday: Went up to Bluewater to see if I could apply for a job at Virgin but pussyed out of it at the last moment. I was in a catatonic state on the bus up there because I've never applied for a job at a shop by just going straight in and asking. I was scared but I reasoned with myself that if I didn't see any adverts for jobs where they have them then I wouldn't ask to speak with someone about getting a job there, an they didn't. I walked in but got nervous about talking to any of the staff on the till, I also saw my old New Deal adviser with his wife and kid before I went in which probably didn't help my nervousness. Took a walk around, bought a new pair of trousers then a fruit salad and a carton of orange juice in Marks & Spencer's then got the bus home. Went onto Virgin's job opportunities website and filled in a specialty application form so I'll know when a new job opens up so I'll be a bit more prepared next time I try going up for a job, found out there wasn't any jobs going at that Virgin store which in a way it was good I didn't ask when I was there because if I found that out then I would have been too embarrassed to go back.
Friday: Rough night, kept getting woken up by the rain and the intense heat (in the middle of September?). Took a walk around Rochester and saw these two young girls who kept waving at me when I passed them in the High Street and from the other side of the castle grounds, and I couldn't figure out if I knew them or not. Got the local newspaper and a bottle of squash from Tesco then came home to find the CDs I ordered from Deathwish (Hope Conspiracy, Reach The Sky, the Black Flag tribute album) were waiting for me. Listened to the CDs, started to watch Blood Sucking Freaks but only made it through the first half hour and had to stop because it was shit so I watched Terror Firmer instead which was funny as fuck and drove me to order more Troma films from the internet. Tried the Troma website but they charge $60 in postage for the first item so I just got them all for cheaper on Amazon. Got the bus to Chatham, bought The Times and read it in the Tap. After reading it I found Kaz, Megan and a bunch of their friends so I wound up spend most of the night with them, sitting on the edge of the table, rarely contributing to the conversation and praying someone I know would turn up. Around eleven it was down to just me, Kaz and Megan so we went for a wander, ran into Ollie who asked who Chris was with in Milton Keynes (I only just found that out after I sent a text to Chris asking if he was spending all night in the Manor again and got back that he was in Milton Keynes so I sent a text back that he was a lucky bastard), I just told him I assumed he was with someone from his course. Left Kaz and Megan on their own to dance on the top floor while I took one last wander to find that still hardly anyone I knew was around so I left at twenty to twelve to get some chips, avoid confrontation with the pikeys hanging around and get a taxi home with an Asian man who was speaking on his hands free car speaker phone (I'm not sure what it's really called) in another language dipping into random English words then after awhile started speaking in English for a few sentences then going back to the other language (it must be great to be bi-lingual and just go into other languages mid-sentence, imagine being Dutch and having to learn four languages).
Saturday: Went shopping, came home watched The Toxic Avenger part III: The Last Temptation Of Toxie, started walking to the Tap after six. Met Mills, talked bollocks, James from Sounds Perfect/Know/Where showed up, we all had a chat then watched Black Milk, who were hard to figure out when exactly they started playing because John was behind his laptop playing music before hand and the guy from Let Our Enemies Beware was just crouched on the floor tuning his guitar and turning knobs on his various pedals, they were alright, I could safely say I hadn't seen any other band do that (the first song did remind me of Bastard Noise in places though). Left the Tap after they finished, go chips in pita from the kebab, narrowly avoided all the fucking pikeys hanging around the train station and got a taxi home.
