Friday: Left the house while it was fucking snowing but didnt have to wait for a bus as one was just coming up as I got to Darnley Road. Got to the Tap and read Sartre for a while, every time I looked up from my book I saw a guy I wanted to beat up based on looks alone (the guy with an Emo star tattooed on his neck, the middle aged bloke wearing heavily applied eyeliner, the guy with a bob hair cut and huge sideburns dressed like a gay pirate, etc, etc). Chris came and said he wanted to stay at the Tap as Anita was coming down but if she didnt wed fuck off to the Manor. Mills came down, we waited til half nine and there was no sine of Anita so we went to the Manor, I was still a little worried that they wouldnt let me in because I refused to DJ Christmas and New Years but I was curious about who was DJing after I heard Korn and Kate had both quit. Got there Steve the bouncer ignored me when I walked past him, had to sign in Mills and some annoying prick who was begging one of us to sign him in (I signed my name as Goatboy and they didnt even notice). I apologised to Hayley and offered to pay to get in but she said it was alright as I was a DJ (still? Does that mean Ill get called up again). Saw that bloke from Shadow Aspect and a sixteen year old kid I spoke to in the toilets once behind the DJ booth, between them they played about four or five Lamb Of God songs while we were there. Saw a fight brake out between people moshing and some Chavs who I guess only came down to beat people up in the pit. Chris got a text from Anita that shed finally arrived at the Tap so we left before we did we saw Steve dragging one of the Chavs into the entrance in a headlock, we followed them out to leave and didnt see the Chav while all the bouncers were talking about going round the back of the club for something (and Steve wonders why Im scared of him). Got to the Tap it was full of annoying drunk pricks I found myself having to get up and take several walks around to came down after the heat, the people bumping into me and spilling beer over my trousers started getting to me. Ran into Sounds Perfect Chris, he told me his new band were opening for November Coming Fires album release show in Ashford and that if theres a space in the car I could get a lift down (be nice if it happens), he also informed me that Gareth the singer from NCF broke his Edge a couple of weeks ago (and he has big Xs tattooed either side of his neck), not only has he started drinking but hes started smoking as well, later I met a girl who asked me if my name was Goatboy (one day Ill tell someone I was actually christened Goatboy). Hung around with Chris, Anita and her friends (Mills had already fucked off) then left about half past one because I badly needed chips. Saw someone taking the piss out of Bill while he was playing the fruit machine (is that were the pauunds you ask for are going, twat!) got my chips and headed up to the taxi bay.
Saturday: It was really cold when I left the house so I decided to be lazy and get the bus to and from Chatham (where I would normally walk to and get the bus back home). Stayed in and watched new episodes of Family Guy on www.youtube.com
Sunday: Woke up all excited at seven, Ive been waiting for Good Clean Fun to tour over here for two years since I heard they got back together. Dicked around the house until two oclock then walked to Strood station. Got to London, had a look around the shops in Soho then go bored and got something to eat and went up to the show. What I can remember of the opening bands;
Dead After School: They started just as I walked in, I was immediately impressed when they introduced their first song as www.myspace.com/getafuckinglife (later found out that the song was actually titled Fuck You! And Your Myspace Page when I got their split with Good Clean Fun later)
Camorra: Ive heard stuff like this a million times before but they played it with enough conviction that they were actually good, their bass player quit before the show so they played without one, it was cool to see that they could still hold their songs together.
Gallows: Interested to see what they were like as In At The Deep End sent me their demo for free when I ordered xThe Break Inxs last album. I could tell they were a Kent band when the Chavy, ginger singer opened his mouth (I knew they had someone from Winter In June but I didnt know if they were based in Kent). They were really good and the singer was funny talking to the crowd trying to get them to move forward (Youre all fucking pussies, Im only little come on, weve got this horseshoe of hate in front of the stage, move forward).
Chaos Days: Really bad irritating Pop Punk, they did surprise me seeing as they were all wearing band shirts like Terror, Champion and Down To Nothing and then they came on playing popy melodic stuff, but they just werent that good.
The Cover Up: Ok but Ive heard that style of Hardcore played a thousand fucking times.
Vultures: See above, they ended with a cover of Six Pack by Black Flag, which was nice.
Good Clean Fun: They got a woman from an animal rights organisation to talk about protesting the sale of fur at Harrods and the importance of becoming Vegan, after she was done Issa said it was cool that we all listened to her because when they do stuff like that in America they get people booing and throwing stuff. They opened with the song Good Clean Fun and I got the mic shoved right in front of my face (I only got to scream GOOD CLEAN FUN but still, cool!). They were everything I hoped they would be like and with added jokes between songs, I started making my way to the back of the crowd to get a shirt and the split with Dead After School when they played a cover of New Direction by Gorilla Biscuits (would have been cool to sing along to that), they played You Gotta Stay Positive as the last song then I left.
Got to Victoria and had something to eat and drink while waiting an hour for the train to Strood to arrive (fucking rail works). Some guy I thought was homeless asked me for money so he could get something to eat and it is for something to eat I gave him a pound and instead of bothering someone else for money like a homeless person would, he got on a train. Ran into Steve and Mills as they came from the Clutch/Corrosion Of Conformity show, which apparently rocked hard (dont regret selling Mills my ticket to see Good Clean Fun instead though). Talked bullocks all the way to Strood then Steve gave Mills a lift back home in his car then I got in the passenger seat and had Steve singing Guns n Roses songs and me all the way to my house.
