Wow, I haven't had that much political propaganda thrown at me since high school in political history.
I had a fine and strangely enjoyable saturday night hangin out with some anarchists, listening to rap, hearing tales of police brutality and murder, and having a girl try to explain, in 5000 words or more, why she believed in Trotskyism.
The anarchists seemed nice enough, mostly messed around with each other and mostly ignored people.
The Trotskyist was extremely friendly, and tremendously verbose... perhaps I asked one too many questions, but after 10 minutes of her going off on tangents to try to make some vague point about why she thought that the Long Beach Longshoreman's Union was going to save the world, I stopped asking...
The rap was, for the most part pretty awesome. Very political, most of the rappers had good rhymes and a couple had awesome rythyms going. Made the night aurally pleasing.
Hearing the police stuff was a bit of a downer, specially because it just kinda reminds me of the reality we live in and I don't always like that reality. As if I have much of a choice tho...
After all that, off to a friend's house to get nicely baked and play video games and watch The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (I think) black and white movies kick ass...
Anyway, I think I shall tumble off into slumber...
