How is my mother, you ask, aka?
She's shockingly almost back to normal, as normal as living totally alone in a rather isolated house for the first time ever, just lost your husband, daughter just moved to Boston can be, which is awesome
She walks with a cane occaisonally, cant really sit in low chairs and her personality seems to have gotten a lot more irritable and on egde but she always kinda had a slight Mommy Dearest, stern Catholic vibe to her and well, after the last 6 months, I can hardly blame her for needing people to walk on eggshells around her from time to time. I was more than slighly taken aback when after bringing me to tears with her in of all places, a Costco wholesale store, the only thing she could say close to an apology was "is that a new purse, Alex?"
Eh, c'e la vie....
She cries everytime I leave to go back, which breaks my heart, but at least she doesnt beg me to move home again.
She's currenly having the house painted and a security system put in so she feels better staying there. The plan, which I'm slowly coming to terms with, is to sell the house within the year. I'm actually finding myself less and less attached/comfortable in such a big old house each time Ben and I visit as I adjust to my new place, which will make the transition easier.
Ben's filming a show for The Charms in early Novemeber in NYC so the plan is to drop me off in CT for a couple days. It'll be the first time since she very very came home in August that she and I will have looooooots of time together since Ben wont be there to keep me from losing my cool so should be......interesting.
Anyhow, enough about her. More about me.
What are everyones plans for Halloween? I'm invited to my first Halloween party since I can remember and I don't know where to start in terms of costumes. Any ideas?
