i just spent 8 crazy days all over the northwest skating some of the sickest outdoor parks and some popular street spots. i have 350 pics from 24 different parks stretching from vancouver down to lincoln city in oregon. due to all that i will do one or two days at a time. so lets start with a weird occurence. its 5 a.m. in the philly airport and it was me and my boy brett and about 20 other people. one of them had a skateboard and looked familiar. to make a long story short it was christian hosoi. the legend himself. after a little converation we had to break out to catch our flight but it was cool to someone i used to idle as a little kid. we landed in seattle and headed straight north towards vancouver stopping at a park in everette washington that wasnt worth getting out of the car for. soon we got to arlington. so good. huge bowls that wrapped around a nice sized full pipe/cradle. now for the record i wanna set the record straight that i am a street skater. born and raised. i ride smaller width boards, low trucks, and small wheels. but i will never pass up a chance to carve a huge bowl. this place was smooth and flawless. this i s a shot of me fooling around in the fullpipe
next we rolled north and crossed the border to hit vancouver. we actually drove straight through to head north of the city towards whistler to camp so in the morning we would wake at our next park. we woke up at squamish. its about 45 min north of vancouver and absolutley amazing. by far the best use of space of all 24 parks we hit. an all around park with gaps and ledges, bowls and tons of tranny. me with an indy over a perfect hip
noseslide up and over
this park is inbetween whistler and vancouver hidden in the mountains and flawless. next we headed north again to whistler to the legendary snakerun. ground is rough, but its fun to cruise. the town and the scenery are worth the trip. here is a random longboarder rollin into the deep end
and we took a minute to catch a ghetto bath in the freezing stream at whistler
next we headed back down towards the city. the scenery along the way is worth taking a minute to document.
me with snowcapped mtns. and my $5 gas station rockstar shades
we hit a park in horseshoe bay that was two small bowls that i didnt take photos of and then right into the city to hit the street plaza. this is what i was looking forward to most. me with a frontboard on the handrail over the long 3 stairs
noseslide on the angled ledge. this thing is so fun
thats enough for now. that was just the first two days. all in all we covered 1750 miles in our journey. more to come
