I have returned. Battles were fought. My wounds are slowly healing. My fallen comrade has been put to rest in the swamp for eternity.
That's right. I'm back from my LARP weekend! This event was called The Gathering and it's run by The Lorien Trust. We had a great time, got into a good few scraps and had plenty of laughs along the way. The weather could've been better at some points but it didn't put a halt to the fun.
Here's some pics for your faces:

That's me (check out the tum tum on that!
). Those robes are just too good. They keep me warm when it cold, and I can hide in the hood if the sun attempts to sear my face off (not too much of a issue this weekend).

Here's my beautiful missus. The dreads were made for her by a friend, and I think she looks proper awesome in them. The face paint was done by me each day, and was really fun to do. Her character is a swamp hag

Here's Slate Darkmace. A female dark dwarf or Duergar. Fearsome to behold in battle. Mostly heard shouting obscenities at other dwarfs she encounters.

Ahhhh. Sergeant Cravex. A fine warrior and handy with a shield. He fell in a battle against the undead hordes and his soul was ripped to many pieces. He will be remembered.
I ache a bit now. I'm really glad I started working out and doing some serious walking a couple of weeks ago. I think without even that tiny bit of exercise I would be in a lot worse shape now. Plus my hips hurt now from laying on my side to sleep in the tent.
Oh yeah, my bogling! Yeah, well I have to admit I probably didn't think that through all that well. Carrying him around in a satchel and get him out all the time became a bit of a nuisance so after day 2 he stayed in the tent. Although in his time he did officiate a in character wedding between barbarian and a fae. That's going to produce some interesting off-spring. Before the wedding, I handed out fake mustaches for the grooms party and after I distributed jelly eyeballs to all that attended the wedding. (argh, kicking myself as I forgot to take a pic of the bogling. I'll get one up ASAP).
I've thought about my character a bit more now, and next year I'm going as a swamp mage. I have plenty of time to work on a costume (I say that now, bet I leave it all to the last second) so hopefully that'll be cool. I'll keep you guys updated with pics and that.
One of my friends wasn't up for coming to this event this year. I understand why he didn't but it really was a shame and he was missed a lot. Fingers crossed for next year though.
Also, I was up playing BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM till 5.30am. I should really try and get in the habit of regular sleep patterns. I'm back at work tomorrow. Oh joy.
Finally, here's me with dreads. BYE!
