My grandmother passed away on February 13, 2005. Her 2nd eldest son said at her funeral, "God asked her to be his early valentine". This past week has been solemn and I really want it to end. Though I miss my grandmother, I want some of the sadness and melancholy to go away, but of course time can only tell when that will occur. I have met cousins, uncles, distant cousins, and people I barely know. My grandmother was loved by all, and definitely will be missed. She had 9 children, 1 stillborn, and 2 miscarriages. 40 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren to survive her. Its gonna be a long road for us, but we all know that she is happy right now, no more pain and suffering.......no more hospitals, though she will be wearing a white gown.
I took 3 days off from work so that I could be available for the wake, funeral, etc. Because of the constant stream of events and non working days, it seems like the days have just ran on like they were all the same day or something. Ah well, things will hopefully get better. Good night everyone.
