First time going out since I was back in Jersey and I ended up in the ER. My friends and I went to our usual bar and a big fight broke out. When we saw that the two bouncers wouldn't be able to handle it we decided to wade in and help out. In the aftermath four guys got arrested and about ten other people ended up going to the hospital. I got cut twice by a guy with a broken bottle, 14 stitches, and one of my other friends got a broken nose and two cracked ribs. My ego is still intact considering it was 6 vs 12 vs 15, with the six being the bouncers, my friends, and me. The other casualties ended up with a broken jaw, two broken arms, a shattered wrist, I think three broken noses, a couple broken and cracked ribs, a shattered occipital bone (the eye socket), and various cut scraps and bruises. I made it through a deployment without a scratch and somehow I get cut up by a drunken jackass with a beer bottle, either Karma is a bitch finally getting payback or I was drunker than I thought I was.
No pics of my cuts because one is on my back and i can't get a good shot of it and the other one is on my abs/groin and if it was an inch or two over I would be a permanent soprano.
The 26th of December has come and gone again and I am reminded of my mortality. For me the 26th is a day I will never forget.
No Slack Sir!
My brother is coming home tomorrow on mid-tour leave. He's gonna spend most of the time with his girlfriend in Iowa, a couple days with our parents, and then he's gonna try and stay with me for a day or two. I haven't seen him in so long, they way we fought growing up I never thought that I would miss him this much.
A pic we had taken soon after I graduated basic training.
Hard to believe that this was only 4 and a half years ago.

And yeah, I know they make them from rubber now, but I mean I don't want like the cheap-o, thin rubber mask. Ya know?
