I dont' think my family is going to be in one place at the same time ever again. My brother's Afghanistan deployment date just got moved up to a week before I go home on leave for Thanksgiving. I haven't seen my parents for about a year and a half, the last time I saw my brother was in 2008 for twenty minutes, in Iraq. The Army seems to constantly be moving my family around each other. My brother and I finally started getting along when he was a Senior and now we never see each other, which wouldn't be so bad if we had normal jobs instead of being Soldiers on constant deployments. I haven't even been home for a holiday since Christmas 2006. Thanksgiving 2007 through New Years 2009 I was in Iraq, then again so was my entire family. My parents are DOD civilans so they get sent to the middle east to. My Mom was down in Camp Arifjon, my Dad moved around central Iraq, Topher, my brother, was in Baghdad, and I was up north in Mosul. That was the closest my family has gotten to a reunion. My last birthday was the first one I've even been able to enjoy since I turned 17. 18th I was in basic training, 19th was training in the middle of tthe desert in California, 20th was Iraq, 21st was training in the middle of the wilderness of some southern state, I don't even know what state the Army dropped my team into. Despite all the hardships and bullshit I still love my job and I don't think I could ever do anything else, there is just a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day and a closeness with my brothers that I never felt anywhere else.
