back from hospital, and we got our date
i thought i would be induced a few days before my due date but it turns out the date i will be induced is the day after my due date . so the day i will be induced is the 13th october.
still not long to wait though, and of course there is every chance i will go into labour before then
im going to the hospital next tues for sweep. im really not looking forward to it but i guess its worth it if it will get things going. also....if it works and i go into labour from the sweep, it will be a natural labour which is better than being induced.
a sweep for those of you who dont know is where they stimulate the cervix with a finger, and scrape of the membranes coating it. it is said to sometimes be able to get the uterus to start contracting. so fingers crossed it works! cos then louis will be here a lot sooner.
he is still head down and he is estimated now and just over 7 lbs....so thats good.
everything seems fine, fluid is fine, heartbeat is fine, my blood pressure is fine etc.
we saw him face to face on the scan...it was amazing...he turned to face us .he has pudgy little cheeks! i wouldve loved a 4d scan but we couldnt afford one so nevermind. bit wierd though to think that the next time we see him will be in real life!!!
also....cos im only on such a small amount of insulin i wont be needing a drip during labour which is a relief, and cos my sugar levels are good there is less risk of his sugar levels being low (which is common when the mum has gestational diabetes) so if his sugar levels are good when he is born there is much less risk of him needing to be taken to the special care unit to moniter them. so fingers crossed his levels will be fine!
update on how i am doing :
my knees are so weak from the weight that they keep nearly buckling underneath me! its really hard to climb the stairs cos it feels like they are gonna fall apart!
my lower back is starting to hurt alot too....and my pelvis is almost always hurting. i get sharp shocks in my cervix area when louis bounces his head on it if i sit down to fast or move over in bed. my fingers are alittle swollen but mostly just at night....not a massive amount just a little. ive gained one lb. my eye wont stop twitchin cos im so tired. and im getting cramps alot, not contractions or antyhing just overall crampiness....nothing strong. its normal and it usually happens if i have been standing up too long or if i move to fast, or if louis is being particularly active.
i can actually feel louis' feet......lol....its adorable....he presses them up and when i touch them i can feel his heel and the rest of his foot.....so crazy!
other good news.....brian got his licence so he has started his new job!!! and the boss has said to brian that he is keeping it in mind about me and the fact that im about to pop any second. so thats good, it means hes understanding of the fact that brian wants to be near me and not do too much work straight after louis is born. he sounds like a great guy. hes a family man so i guess that helps.
brian is desperatly trying to get allsorts done around the house before louis gets here....poor thing he never stops!
i wish i could help but im useless.....i cant even bend down, put my own socks on, or walk properly.
okies....im off.....hope you are all ok!

It is a pretty badass pizza place, great beer, pizza, free punk shows and it all is in a old 100 year old shop.
Things just got worse today and I think it will be a long time before I get happy again.
Wow that is not long at all, you will have him and be better just in time for Halloween, I know it is not a big deal over there but still.
Thinks for the info, I had no idea what that was.
I'm glad everything has been going well.
To bad you couldn't get the 4d scan, that would have been cool, but soon you can just take lots of videos and photos of your own.
I really hope his levels will be fine.
Just think soon the pain will be over and you will have your little boy.
I'm glad that Brian has a great boss.
