Thought it was time for a new post.

I've just got a new job. As of the 15th February, I am an IT Manager! I'm so pleased, and I can't wait to start.

I'm also about to upload a new set - Called Going Somewhere. I hope you like it. It's now been almost a year since I uploaded a set. I've lost a lot...

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed you set. Thank you.

Good luck in the new job and everything

We do! I've been browsing the Vancouver freecycle ads & sometimes see stuff I like, buuuut the only problem is that most people don't deliver and I don't have a car. There's only so much I can manage on the bus! wink

New job is going really well. I've been told I am over qualified, and they are looking to give me a different job title, more responsibilities and more pay! Woop woop!

Thats so good to hear, darlin! Good luck with that dvd, I'm glad they smartened up. You really deserved that apology you got too.

I didn't know scars could stop you getting an NHS job...

(Taken from an email I sent someone explaining things.)

Occupational Health won't give me clearance. They say that I am wired
wrong, and I should be seeing psychiatrists and on anti depressants.
Apparently, I am in denial about my "condition" and this needs to be
addressed.

It will be passed to a senior manager,...

Oh my goodness, this is unacceptable! Mental health is by NO MEANS a viable excuse not to hire someone. The fact that they are SCARS and not fresh, open wounds shows that it is not a current problem. Employers have no right to judge how you MAY act in a future stressful work situation.
And so what if you end up needing some time off for yourself to deal with stress? It's your legal right to tend to personal health, whether physical or mental. If they're concerned about you needing paid time off to deal with a personal issue, why not be concerned about hiring a mother too? She's obviously taken paid time off in the past to go have a kid, so who's to say she won't do it again?
That is completely unfair and wildly uncompassionate. If you have the skills and qualifications for the job, and this is the only reason they have denied you employment, I would take this to a higher level, and inquire about your rights in this situation.

I know this is an old blog, but I just read it now. Let me know what happened with this!

I finally moved at the weekend. It was a total mess. There was a huge debt on the gas, electric and water. The agency we rented through thought it was acceptable to leave us with no gas for the weekend and wouldn't pay it off so that we could credit the meter. The electric was cut off on Sunday night because of the debt, yet...

Hey hun!

Thanks so much for the love on my member review set, Rebel Without a Cause!
quackers:
Hi there, saw you on the vouch list for SGUK and then stumbled across the blog.

With regards to your move, so long as you have a tenancy agreement clearly documenting the date of commencement the outstanding debt isn't your responsibility legally - the property and all outstanding debt is down to the previous tenant. You should take readings from all your meters, photographing them if appropriate and contact the electric/gas company. Explain you are new tenants and direct them to the agency for contact details for the previous tenant. If you have a key meter they will send you a key first class post (for gas and electric). Failing that, you should speak to Citizen's Advice Bureau.

Best of luck getting it sorted out!
