What a massive couple of weeks I've had. FIRST I'm gonna blog about my weekend.
SOUNDWAVE! I had such a great time and got to see two of my favourite bands of all time: Primus and QOTSA. They were both amazing. The only down side to this year's Soundwave was that I think they OVERSOLD it. I have been to every Soundwave since they started and I have NEVER felt so claustrophobic.....and thats not in the mosh pit, that was in general...just moving from stage to stage. But apart from that it was an incredible weekend with one of my best friends. We stayed in an apartment in the city and it just so happened to be one that some of the bands were staying at. As we were leaving the hotel to head to the festival there was the band bus out front and a few hot tattooed American boys waiting for the bus to leave...they were nice enough to give my friend and I a lift to the show and the bus actually drove backstage.
They were from Polar Bear Club and H2O.....I have no idea who they are but hey they were nice and cute so it was all good.
Anyway so my friend and I were wandering around backstage and we could not find a way out! haha. We kept asking people but no one could tell us. After about 30 minutes of wandering around backstage (we didn't have passes but never got asked about it!) we finally found a way out. It made for a pretty exciting start to the day haha.
So the rest of the day we wandered from stage to stage. I got to see some alot but really I only went for Primus and QOTSA.....HOWEVER One Day As A Lion were so fucking amazing. I didn't expect to enjoy it quite as much as I did.
I left after QOTSA finished because I didn't care much to see any bands that played after that. So my friend and I headed back to the hotel apartment and had a night time swim - which was lovely. Then we went back to the room, got high and headed to Pancake Manor. YUM! Best food to get when you have the munchies! haha. The only thing that would have made the whole weekend perfect was if I didn't have to work yesterday!
