Please forgive my wonder
I cant seem to shake
The awe of connection
that seems so much louder
that mere named colors

She brushes my heart
with strokes of mere text
Painting smiles along the way

My Twin she said
as if definition couldn't meet
the explanation of awe

sometimes "what is" simply defy's
rational reasons why

Where it leads isn't as important
as where it takes us
and who it helps us become

For every connection beings me a better sense
of the person i wish to be

I learn from you
you show me as much about
the person I want to be
as the person I want to be with

you open my hardened eyes
to the hope that
someday I truly may
find that one

you steady my confidence
by showing me that
I'm not the only person
who hopes for a tomorrow on the edge
of my hearts feelings and emotions

You show me
I'm not silly to smile at unexpected hellos
Not foolish to awe
at knowing someone was thinking about me
and not crazy to blush
at the whisper of my name at bedtime

Saying to me isn't as precious
as bringing me to a place where I lose my doubt
allowing me to feel
as special as I always hoped to be
