I was filling out an online form today that had one of those security things where you have to type the letters you see in picture in the box in order for it to be accepted. The word was impotence. Who the hell decided... lets add impotence to the list of words children must type in in order to send a simple email?

Not to harp on this, but your analogy is flawed. The semantic connotations of the "other" meanings of the two words are very different. One is derogatory, denigrating, and considered to be "dirty" or "bad." The other is simply a term relating to a perfectly natural physical process (or lack of it, in this case.) They cannot be compared.

I'm saying I wouldn't automatically DISAPPROVE of the usage of a perfectly valid word which happens to have a secondary, sexual application but which is not in and of itself a "bad" word in any way shape or form.
