I was watching pbs and I came accrosed and interesting interview of a well spoken gentlemen in his 70s explain the justification for war in iraq. His fundamental argument for going to war in iraq was national security via a hawkish foreign policy. He concluded we should attack iraq not for what they might have done or had done in the past but simply to send the message to all radical islamists in the world that if you fuck with the US we are going to come and kill you and were not going to be to particular about it. Were going to kill you, your family, your followers, any countries you might have stayed in or even just talked to. So dont fuck with US if you want to live.
While I dont agree with his analysis of the proper response to 9/11 I somehow have to respect someone who will basically lay it right out for you instead of trying to mask the goals in aluminum tubes and humanitarian goals.

Don't fuck with the US if you want to live. Nice. I think that's the unofficial motto of Bush's foreign policy...
